I’ve bought several of these style pots (4 of the 10 gal, 2 of the 15 gal) over time so knew what to expect. They are very thin, but in my experience, if a multi-port, banjo style burner is used, that spreads out the flame, there is negligible scorching - no brown or black, just a bit of shadow that wipes out with a sponge where the pot touches the burner stand. If using a blow-torch style burner, they will scorch, but so will my thicker pots, though less so. They come with an impressive mirror polish that scratches like butter and after enough heat/cool cycles the grind marks on the vertical can weld are all clearly visible, but the surface remains smooth to the touch and mechanically sound. Probably the worst complaint on the most recent pots is that there is a heavy bead weld that attaches the handle to the pot which apparently over-stresses the very thin metal. They very reliably develop a surface crack inside the pot along the weld line upon heat/cool cycling. It’s only in the surface, not all the way through. Mechanically the pot and handles appear to remain sound. The earlier pots (10 gal anyway) had handles attached with a series of very small spot welds that apparently produced much less stress - no cracks after many cycles. Have never lost a handle, though have never lifted more than about 9 gallons. Anyway all that said, its tough to get that much SS pot volume for that price without some compromises. It fit my needs well enough to repeat buy.
