The Original Barley Crusher Grain Mill, the "Home Brewer's Best Friend" has proven to be just that. A high quality grain mill constructed using materials that will last a lifetime, 1018 Cold Rolled Steel for the rollers, 6061 Aluminum for the mill body and hopper, tool steel for the axles with Oil Impregnated bronze bushings. Base easily fits a 5 gallon bucket. This model comes with a 15 pound hopper.
Precision machining with Quality Control and a LifeTime Warranty assures the homebrewer that this will be the only grain mill they will ever purchase!

Details:

Rollers are adjustable at both ends to keep the gap spacing parallel giving a uniform crush along the entire length of the rollers.

The gap default setting is marked and set at .039 at assembly. Adjustment range is from .015 to .070 thousands of an inch.

The rollers have a 12 TPI knurl to efficiently pull the grain through the rollers while leaving the hull intact to form an excellent filter bed for sparging.

Comes with a solid base with locators to center the Barley Crusher on a 5 gallon plastic pail. (Pail not included)

Th larger hopper holds 15 pounds. Using a 3/8 drillmotor at 500 RPM gives you a crush rate of 6 pounds a minute making the big grain bills fast and easy.

The Barley Crusher is shipped fully assembled. There are no adapters needed to use a 3/8 drill motor.

The Barley Crusher is NOT designed for cracking/milling corn.

6 Years and 200 batches...
Headline says it all. Phenomenal mill. Knurling is just starting to show signs of ware. If you keep it lubed with a VERY small amount of mineral oil will last pretty much forever until the knurling wears out. I keep mine spaced to about .031 using a feeler gauge. I average about 86% efficiency fly sparging. If you are prone to stuck sparges would recommend increasing to about .035-37.

Great value
I researched the heck out of grain crushers, and a friend turned me onto this one. Certainly the best value I found out there, and it works marvelously. Great product.

Worth its weight!
Our efficiency has gone way up, even with the manual crank (I don't have a powerful enough screw driver yet...) it only takes minutes and it's paying for itself in efficiency and bulk grain. Very sturdy.

Works when it rolls but requires work to get it going sometimes...
I used this several times already and everything is great when it wants to work. The rollers don't grab the grain and one does not spin unless it grabs the grain. So I had to prime it with a little push down into the grain a few times and even had to take it apart once to get it to go. Not sure why this thing does not work without such, but eventually it works with some help.

Great Purchase
This was a great purchase. I've cracked 40 pounds of barley with it on the factory setting, IPAs and Porters, and the brews came out just fine. It will pay for itself in no time. It fits very well on a 5-gallon bucket, which keeps the dust down. It comes with a hand crank you can attach, but I just use a variable speed drill. Definitely recommend it.

Could Not Be More Satisfied
Just used my Barley Crusher for my first batch since I received it and I could not be more satisfied with it and the results. My local homebrew store''s crusher was not set properly and they would not dial it in any finer. So the coarse crush had dropped my mash efficiencies into the low 71-73% range. Today I hit 84.1% which is right in line with what I hit on a friends Barley Crusher. Both set at the factory settings. Yes I am happy, yes I am satisfied and will order from Adventures in Homebrewing again.

Works Great
The grinder works great and my 12 year old son ground all the grain this past weekend to make this IPA, I''ll be ordering some grain soon to make an Oktoberfest. Thanks and hopefully someday when I''m in your area I''ll get the chance to stop in and check out your store.
