Q: I'm just starting out and I'm not ready for "all grain" brewing yet. I would like to get this kit instead of the #3 kit so I'm prepared when I am ready for "all grain". Will this kit work for the "extract" kits and would I need to add a carboy?
Asked by: - 1/29/2015
A: This kit would be a great option for your scenario, as you will have everything you need to brew those extracts(other than a heat source), as well as make an easy transition into all grain. Having a carboy would definitely be helpful for both styles of brewing, as secondary fermentation is a crucial clearing stage for many styles of beer. You can definitely brew without doing a secondary, but we normally recommend it.
