Description

Due to popular demand, Coopers master brewers developed this beer concentrate in the style of the famous Coopers Original Pale Ale, which is considered an Australian icon. The finest 2-row barley, hops and specially selected yeast combine to produce a beer with fruity and floral character balanced with a crisp bitterness and compelling flavor, perfect for any occasion.

Coopers 3.75 pound cans are designed to make 6 gallons with an original gravity of 1.038 (with 2.25 LB of brewing sugar) giving about 4.1% ABV. We prefer to make 5 gallons with 3 LB of brewing sugar to give an OG of about 1.051 and 5.5% ABV.

Coopers Australian Pale Ale Hopped Malt Syrup

I began brewing beer in 1969 using Blue Ribbon Hop Flavored Malt Syrup, which was sold in A&P grocery stores for many years. But the only yeast available was Flichmans for baking bread. But a friend who worked at the Enzyme Institute of the UW-Madison had obtained a bootleg sample of Budweiser beer yeast, which he gave me. And I made great beer for decades until hop flavored malt syrup was hard to find, and boiling my own hops did not work as well for me.
So I am glad for Coopers and their various hop flavored malt syrups.

My "Go To" light beer for Spring

This is a very easy to make, light drinkable beer. You can control the alcohol level by the amount of sugars you add and I like to use Citra hops at the end of the fermentation to give it a nice character.

Coopers Australian Pale Ale

Really like this can of prehopped malt for a nice light refreshing beer. I make 6 gallons with 2 lbs of extra light dry malt. Just the taste I want.

Great

First had Coopers in Australia in a bottle and enjoyed it. Not excited about paying $12 for a 6 pack a Bevmo. But the extract Coopers with any of the Kveik yeasts and minimal additional DME make a great, drinkable brew...for a fraction of the cost and time of any alternative. In the 6 months that I have been making this, I have bought precisely 1 (and it was a disappointment) beer that I did not make.
