Don’t drop this kit from your offerings !

Enjoy the kit as always.
The new packaging of this and other kits is not the quality I have been use to for the past eight years.
This shipment appears to have come from Minnesota and not Michigan.

Not great

Honest review - I followed the directions and the kit produced a beer that is not great to drink. To me it is not hoppy at all nor is there malt support as the marketing stated. Very ordinary and the flavor profile is not great at all. Will not be making this one again.

Truly excellent

New to the hobby, I often go big or don't do bother at all... But with brewing I decided to start with extract before moving onto all grain as it was something I never imagined I'd get into. This kit is phenomenal. It's the third beer I've brewed, following chocolate stout and chipotle porter, and this just has that robust well crafted beer flavor you expect when you pay top dollar for a beer in store or from a brewery. The stout and porter are very drinkable, smooth, and tasty, but lacked that punch in the taste buds I often seek. This definitely provides it. I have another kit on hand of it even though I've moved onto all-grain, I will definitely brew it again. A residual hint of malt on the aftertouch, a lovely hoppy punch midway through, just high enough ABV to make you know well you're drinking a beer. It's simple, and well crafted, which seem to make the best beers. Note: I had an issue and had to use a British yeast even though this calls for American, I'm sure it subtly changed the taste but jeeze, it is regardless, delicious. I can't believe I have 47 more bottles of it...
