Raison D'Saison Ale by Palmer Brewing by Palmer Brewing Solutions

The award-winning recipe from Brewing Classic Styles by Jamil Zainasheff and John Palmer, prepared and assembled in a ready to brew ingredient kit!

Despite the name, there are no raisins just great "reasons" to enjoy this delicious brew. This is a medium to strong ale, pouring a pale orange, with high carbonation and well hopped. Notes of fruit and spice complement a dry, quenching finish.

5 Stars
Tastes great, fermented DRY
Pitched the yeast (Dry Belle Saison) at 75 and set my temp controller to 75 with a heat belt wrapped around the fermentation bucket. I allowed the fermentation to naturally raise the temp to 80, eventually it settled back down to the set temp of 75. Three weeks in primary, then into a keg to force carb. The yeast in this kit overshot the FG and chewed right through everything to a FG of 1.000. After a week in the keg it was absolutely delicious. The 8% ABV really creeps up on you. The beer itself tastes great, but it's lacking any notes of pepper as you might expect in a Saison. I will for sure be making this kit again, and possibly fermenting at a lower temperature to see what it's like.
