Q: Any idea when you might get the 10 Gallon 1 Weld Volume Marked Brew Pot back in stock?
A: These have unfortunately been discontinued by the current manufacturer without a current ETA to provide at this time for their return
Q: 10 Gallon 1 Weld Volume Marked Brew Pot
When will you be expecting these to be back in stock? Thank you!
A: at this time we do not currently have a return ETA for this particular kettle(Nov 2018)
Q: Does this kettle come with a blank fitting for the port or would one have to buy a valve or other fitting before being able to use it?
A: The kettle does not come with a plug or ball valve included in the cost, but these items can be added if needed from the drop-down menu on the items page, or as a separate item from the website
Q: My husband has the single weld brew pot and the handle broke (one side came unattached to the pot). Do you have any suggestions for repair?
A: You can try a product like JB Weld and this should help. Otherwise, it can be rewelded on if you have the equipment.
Q: How are the handles attached ... welded?
A: The handles are riveted on.
I have a question regarding all of the following products below. What grade of stainless steel are these (example: 201, 300,304) and are they food-grade?
10 Gallon 1 Weld Volume Marked Brew Pot - item # 73-0808
10 Gallon 2 Weld Volume Marked Brew Pot - item # 73-2525
15 Gallon 1 Weld Volume Marked Brew Pot - item # 73-6060
14 Gallon Brewmaster Stainless Steel Brew Kettle - item # 19-304
A: All of our brew pots are 304 Stainless.
Q: Any special cleaning needed before the first use? Just water? Soap and water? PBW?
A: The kettles would just need a rinse but a quick wash with PBW or another cleaner before the first use would not hurt!
Q: Hi can you tell me the wall and bottom thickness of the kettle?
A: the kettles will have the same wall and base thickness of 18 gauge
Q: Which propane burner would you suggest for this pot?
A: Our AIH 14" burner would be a good high output burner that would cut the lag time in boiling and can accomodate larger kettles down the road if needed. Otherwise any of the burner stand options we offer one the site would be able to accomodate the weight of the kettle and effecient boiling times
Q: What is the distance of the base of the port opening from the kettle bottom? to the top of the port opening from the bottom? I want to see how high a false bottom would need to be to clear the weld port.
A: The top of the port sites at abut 1.5" and the bottom edge of the port is at .5" from the bottom of the kettle
Q: Is there a false bottom available for this pot?
A: There is not currently a flase bottom we produce for the kettle at this time
Q: Are the volume markings stamped or etched?
A: The markings are stamped into the side
Q: How far does the ball valve stick out? I think the kettle might barely fit in my sink but it might not with the ball valve. If it doesn't can I use something else, like a plastic tub, for an ice bath?
A: The valves typically add a bout 5" or so to the kettle. So long as the tub or "bath" your using can withstand the temperatrue differences, it would be fine.
Q: I am interested in purchasing this item. Would you please send me the measurements of the box (package) in which this brew pot would arrive? This is very important information for future transport purposes. Thank you.
A: The package size shipped with this kettle is 15x15x17"
Q: I am thinking about purchasing this pot to use as a mash tun. Do you sell a false bottom that would work with this or could I use the false bottom out of my 10 gallon Igloo cooler?
A: At this time we don't currently have a false bottom designed for this kettle size. The 10 gallon igloo false bottoms diameter would fit, but the pick up tube design will not adapter well to the coupling on this kettle.
A: We do not sell a false bottom specifically for this pot. You can definitely try to use the false bottom out of your Igoo, however, I can not guarantee it will fit. These pots are always 10 gallons in volume, however, the diameter can change slightly from batch to batch as the manufacturer makes adjustments.
