Q: Is there any way to get the elbow that connects to the false bottom? I just got a cooler assembly but the elbow is brass and I'd like stainless
A: that elbow is proprietary to the full assembly but a similar compression elbow can be found on part #92-4333
Q: Does the SS arm have a lock nut on the bottom side of the strainer or does it just sit on it?
A: there would be no bottom lock nut by design as the false bottoms weight and the weight of the mash will hold it in place on the base of the cooler
Q: I have one 10 gallon orange water coolers. Will this fit properly?
A: Orange coolers are typically Rubbermaid brand. the bulkhead from this assembly is only designed for igloo brand coolers as well sell on the site due tot he difference in thickness in the sidewall of the cooler opening
Q: Does the spigot have NPT threads? I'd like to buy this but I want to use my own spigot.
A: The outside thread is a 1/2" male NPT
Q: Can you purchase just the false bottom side of the connection? I do not need the valve, bulkhead, or hardware for hard plumbing
A: The tubing Elbow and nut are not currently offered as individual parts at this time.
Q: The brown o ring seems a tad to small (OD, that is) when I tighten the nut to keep the valve assembly from rotating in the igloo cooler bulkhead it appears that part of the o ring is squeezing into the bulkhead hole thus not allowing the whole assembly to lay at 90 degrees to the cooler wall. Is there a larger OD o ring available?? Any thoughts??
A: This issue normally only comes up if the nut on the inside is over tightened causing the compression of the o'ring into the cooler wall. you will need 2 crescent wrenches to hold the outside ball valve and bulk head in place, and one to tighten the nut on the inside just enough to compress the gasket, but not so tight that the o'ring pushes through the wall, causing the tube on the inside to sit askew.
Q: I disassembled the parts before taking note of the stacking order of the washer and o-ring. On the fitting which passes through the cooler, what is the intended stacking order from the integrated hex to the nut?
A: It goes brown o'ring, metal washer, and then the nut.
Q: Would this also fit a Standard Keg?
A: No, the vessel sizes are just too different.
For kegs we recommend the Stainless Steel PICO style keg kettle false bottom w/supports, Item Number:99-2653
Q: Is this item now 100% stainless as it looks in the picture, or are the fithings still brass?
A: This item is 100% stainless.
Q: What size hose barb comes with this?
A: This assembly comes with a 3/8" hose barb.
Q: Does your false bottom hardware fit a Rubbermaid cooler?
A: This will not work with a rubbermaid cooler.
Q: Any way to get a parts list for the hardware? If I buy this false bottom, I'd like to plumb it entirely with stainless.
A: Many of the parts are custom made and currently not available in stainless.
Q: Does the nut on the dip tube go over or under the false bottom? I ask because I'm getting grain underneath.
A: It goes over the bottom, and screws down to apply pressure, and hold the bottom in place.
