Questions and Answers
We did it!
All of our suppliers told us we were nuts. For years, the BTU's on outdoor burners have been going down. What with deep-fried turkey burn the deck down liquid fire running down the drive-way, you can't blame our wholesalers for wanting to lower their insurance premiums and with that, BTUs.
Customer comments and message board woes have not escaped our attention, Homebrewers want more. Nobody would do it for us, so we did it ourselves.
We've designed a stand and assembled a burner with a 10 psi regulator, a brass control valve and 36" of LP Hose (hose style will vary based on availability). These burners will top out at a whopping 220,000 BTUs, just like the days when deep frying a turkey(and homebrewing) was deemed insane!
With that being said, by purchasing this burner you assume all responsibilities for not setting you, your friend, your house, your friend's house... your friend's cat, on fire. You should also be completely prepared and expect to singe arm (or eyebrow) hair.
These burners are made for homebrewing. They are 14" square across the top for a large stock pot (Designed for 1/2 and 1/4 Barrels) They are 11" tall. Perfect for full boils and all-grain brewing.
Propane Troubleshooting:
If you are not getting the best flame possible out of your propane burner, you may have triggered a safety valve in the propane regulator body. This occurs when the gas flow through the regulator is too great. You will need to disconnect the regulator from your propane tank to release the safety valve. While connecting your regulator to your propane tank, it is very important that the propane tank and all needle valves are completely closed. Once the regulator is correctly connected to your closed tank, open the propane tank slowly to allow gas to flow into the regulator. You can now open the needle valve enough to ignite your burner. Once the burner is lit you can slowly open the needle valve until you reach the desired flame intensity.
Great burner
Very nice burner. Easy to regulate the flame. It will keep 6 gallons boiling with gas barely turned on. It can get 6.5 gallons of 50 degree water up to boiling easily in 30 minutes, I'm sure if you opened it wide up, it could get it even faster.

Wow what a difference this Burner makes
Tried Brewing using the side burner of my grill. It worked but, took forever! Since buying this 14 inch propane burner, I have brewed 4 more times. This burner cuts down the time, BIG TIME. It is so easy to control the temperature. Best thing ever for brewing. Less time waiting. Will be great to use for cooking crabs and deep frying a turkey. I don't regret getting the larger size. This thing really exceeded my expectation. My next investment has to be a wort chiller...

Sure beats the stove
I have been using the stove since I first started brewing about 4 years ago. I finally decided to see how much of a difference using a dedicated burner would make. Now I don't know why I waited so long to get one. Water takes a substantially shorter amount of time to bring up to temperature using this. I'm saving a good hour and a half now on brew day by not waiting for the stove to get water and wort up to temp. There is some minor assembly, but nothing too complicated. The stand itself is sturdy, much sturdier than cheaper burners I've seen at my local brew shop.

Great Burner
So far I have really enjoyed this burner. My only main complaint is every time I am going to use it, I have to unplug the line connecting the propane tank to the burner as something within the regulator messes up which is annoying. The bottom screw is pretty cheap and will constantly turn. They just need to add a hex nut and it would be fixed. The metal round band is pretty cheap and dont see its purpose as it could have been made much better. Overall the functioning of the burner is great after you fix those couple of pieces and will get extremely hot. I would recommend this over the Blinchmann top tier burner for sure as its higher btus and seems to do a better job so far.

Fantastic burner
Incredibly sturdy. This was selected specifically because of the frame design. I couldn't be happier with it, and it is incredibly rugged and sturdy. The setup was easy, and the burner is a monster. So easy to whip up 10 gallon batches now. My last burner broke in mid-boil when a leg collapsed, sending 12 gallons of hot wort all over. I have no worry whatsoever with this burner though.

Natural gas orifice
Purchased with natl gas orifice. Would barely boil a 5 gallon batch with a 1/2" supply line. I drilled the orifice up one drill bit size. Be careful if you drill this as the hole is actually a piece pressed in. I drilled slow and it worked fine as I was only going up one drill bit size. It now works great. My gas pressure is 7 WC as per the city. The quality of this burner is 5 stars all the way. I used the propane set-up to add capacity to a propane burner that I have. For me this is a great deal especially when on sale. Very reasonable shipping as well. I now do not have to worry if I have enough propane on hand.

TurboJet Engine!
By far the best burner for getting that wort to boil! I make a 10 gal batch so starting with 15+ gals in a 20 gal pot this baby produced heat! Very sturdy design too (which was the problem with the old turkey fryer burner I had besides the low BTUs). For the price, this is a great buy. Only word of caution... have a spare propane tank handy because like any jet engine, it requires a lot of fuel.

Good burner
This is the first propane burner I've purchased, and it was exactly what I wanted, easy and quick to put together. The burner fits a 15 gallon pot and larger. About 10 gallons of water stuffed with straw reaches a boil quickly in about 1.5 hours.

Love at first brew
Received for X-mas and had to fire it up (I keep my grain bills vacuum sealed , so I can brew at any time. Brought my wort to a boil in a few minutes. I decided to do a late extract addition, and this burner got my wort back to a boil in under a minute...It wasn't until I shut the burner down that I realized I got a hard boil going with the burner at 1/4 turn on the needle valve...Serious heat output, very sturdy, I just ordered a larger pot to boil in so I can put this to good use.

Turkey fryer
I got this to use as a turkey fryer and couldn't be happier. Easy to dial back with the needle valve. Maintained a constant temperature, had to adjust once over a 70 minute period. I'm a stickler and never walk away from an open flame so this was great for my purposes. May try some brewing with it one day...

Just Awsome!!!
We bought this for a seafood boil that we put on for a large family gathering over Labor Day weekend. We used a 30 quart stainless steel pot with a strainer basket. I converted to natural gas using the 99-1677 orifice. The whole rig worked just great. This burner really puts out the heat. A great value, that does a great job.

14" Burner is Awesome!
Ok, in all honesty I don't use this burner for homebrewing. I use it to cook crab in a kettle made from a A-B 1/2 barrel. With that out of the way, let me say this burner is awesome and exactly as advertised. It fits an Anheuser Busch 1/2 barrel perfectly and boils sea water very, very quickly. I've only used it once so I can speak to the LPG consumption but that is less important to me than the time I save getting the cooking done. If this one ever fails on me I'll definitely buy another one.

Great Burner
No longer will I have to spend an entire day trying to get a few gallons of water to boil on my gas grill. I used this burner to make a 5 gallon batch of beer and it got my water up to temp in a matter of minutes. A rolling boil was achieved in no time also. This is by far the best investment I have made in brewing equipment by far. It was very easy to control the flame on it. The valve is a bit sensitive, but after a few minutes of tweeking with it I was able to get the proper amount of flame I needed. The burner is sturdy and level. The only major drawback is that it sits low on the ground. But you can set this on top of some cinder blocks that are level if you need to.

Works great...very fast boil
I was not happy about being kicked outdoors due to my sloppy stovetop brewing. However, after my first all grain boil with this burner, I would never go back to a stovetop. 3 times faster and easy to control. Now if I have a slight foam over, it's not a problem. Good solid welds on the stand. Maintaining a constant boil is easy and the large platform is plenty wide. Can't wait for my next cookout.

Good to go for 10 gallon batches
The only reason this is not a 5 star review is the height of the stand is a little low for me but I'm 6'4", so it may not be an issue for you. The positives outweigh that significantly and I would not hesitate to purchase another one or recommend to friends. This stand is very sturdy, even with a keggle holding 12 gallons it feels very stable. Heats like a dream, it's almost too powerful for 7 gallons of wort, keeps a boil rolling with the burner almost off. With the square construction of the frame, it should be easily modified to table height (my next project).

Quality Equipment!
I have been using a Turkey platform and got tired of the yellow flame and huge carbon deposits it created. I brew quite often and the Mrs. was getting tired of the black sooty mess the Turkey burner was leaving. Bought one of these and could not be happier! Great craftsmanship, quality regulator and burner. Now brewing carbon soot free! .....and yes, much more powerful than the Turkey platform. It comes up to speed quickly!

Looking for a high btu burner to do wok cooking and other kinds of outdoor cooking that smokes up the house. I am a cook and I need that heat potential. Have you any experience with this? I imagine I could use a wok ring and be good to go. Thanks

A:
We intend these burners for use with brewing beer and heating water in kettles. We have not used these for cooking other products personally but other customers have purchased these for that purpose, and had success

do you sell a natural gas version?

A:
we do not sell the burners Re-Converted for natural gas as the BTU output of natrual gas puts the burners well below what we advertise using LP or propane gas., By switching over the orifice using item#99-1677 you can use an existing Natrual gas hose and use the burner with this set up.

Q:
How do you adjust the flame to burn only blue, without any yellow color?
Asked by:
AC

A:
The flame will vary depending on how much air/oxygen is being allowed into the burner itself. This can be adjusted using the aluminum air baffle on the end of the burner itself, by turning it to open of close, to narrow the flame in.
