Q: I usually start with 180 degree water to get full gelitinization of my corn adjunct for 45 minutes to an hour, then drop to 150 for barley, oats, wheat, rye, etc. My question is, will this pot hold temp that high for that long after cutting the heat source? If not do you have some details to share that can help me revise my protocol? Thanks.

A: The kettle will hold heat will be if not applying heat directly to the kettle during the mashing process, will allow the temps to drop during mashing depending in ambient temps. Recirculating the wort using a pump during the mash and applying a small amount of flame to the kettle would allow you to more accurately control the heat, and use the recirculation of the wort frmo the bottom of the kettle back onto the top to limit scorching of the mash

A: Blichmann Products, unfortunately, have vendor restricted MAP pricing we have to abide by that would not allow further discounts or promotions to apply to their items unless passed on by Blichmann directly.

The bounce back E-mails are smart enough to know that you still have an item in your cart, but unfortunately cannot recognize the MAP restrictions

The codes would not apply to Blichmann items at this time

A: The false bottom is not included by defualt but can be added as an optional item if needed

Q: At what height do you install the whirlpool arm on the 20g kettle? And does this change if a hop blocker is used?

A: The whirl pool mounting height is a matter of preferenceo nt he end user, as the goal is to allow for the wort flow to produce the whirlpool and collect the heavier sediment into the center of the kettle. The Hop Blocker can be installed the same as it would allow for wort flow throguh the unit which should not interrupt the whirlpooling

Q: Does this pot come with the brewmometer? - Is it a dual-nut fitting with an o-ring or is it a threaded fitting?

A: The brewmometers that come with G2 pots are the weldless versions, which use an o-ring and lock nut to install the thermometer into the pot.
