5 Gallon Cornelius Keg, Ball Lock (Used)

I was very happy when I opened the box on this used keg. This was the prettiest used keg that I purchased to date - hands down. There was a ton of pressure on the thing. Thought I got really lucky on this purchase. Cleaned it up, deodorized and put its first batch in. Applied CO2 to push out O2 and set initial pressure before setting aside to age. Lid would not seal at lower pressure. Locking handle lacks insufficient force to collapse the lid on to the seal to hold pressure at lower levels. It isn't until a significant amount of pressure is added to force the lid up on to the seal that it would actually seal shut. Fortunately I had other lids from empty tanks to replace this one. Going to have to buy a new lid at my next recipe purchase. 5 stars for looks minus 2 for lid.

These items came sealed to guarantee no leaks. Condition was better than what I expected. They are used but would rate them 9 out of 10. Fast delivery.

Still had pressure when I opened it which gave me confidence there weren't any leaks. Very happy, also shipping was faster than expected.

These kegs were in ok shape but I knew they were used when I purchased. However they clearly stated Coke on the outside and still had Sprite in them which on the website it states they try not to use Coke or Pepsi b/c they could be very old and used a ton. I guess you get what you paid for but I think you should remove the caveat that you try not to send Coke and Pepsi kegs.

Kegs showed a lot of usage but all worked well accept one, which was immediately replaced at no cost to me. I would buy again.

I've bought many used corny kegs locally and you never know what you'll get. This is the second time I've ordered from here. The kegs arrive perfect. Except for surface wear, you'd never know they're used. Seals great, ball valves are flawless. Will definitely keep ordering as long as they keep them in stock.

It arrived OK, BUT still had quite a bit of Dr. Pepper left in it, that leaked all in the packaging. Seals shot, as expected (allowed the leakage). Two minor dents around upper rim just below black top edge. Replaced poppets, all seals, and o-rings, and now holds pressure. I am generally happy with it for the price.......

They were as expected from description. Some soda liquid left as stated. They work great for the price.

This was as expected. Not beat up, a little cleaning inside and out. I replaced a couple of rings and was good to go. AIH comes thru as usual. Thanks.

The kegs are great and are a deal but you do have to clean them well. All 4 of mine came with some soda at the bottom. I cleaned, sanitized and no odor after I was done. These are not new kegs and probably have been used for years but the price is right.

So far the Keg has been great. I knew I purchased a used keg so the imperfections were anticipated. One thing I was not anticipating was the 16 oz of soda sloshing around the inside of the keg when I received it. At first I thought it was some kind of chemical for shipment, but as I was cleaning it out, i caught a whiff of the distinctive smell of cola! I planned to clean it when I got it, I was just shocked that this thing appeared to have been brought from a restaurant and shipped directly to me without even a spray down with a garden hose.

Kegs were in great condition holding pressure I could tell one was worked on before it was sent no problems so far very happy with order.

I received type b fittings and had to buy a new wrench to take them off. I wish I was sent type a fittings.

I bought 2 used kegs. Both showed up in great shape and work as expected. I would definitely buy again.

Kegs were still pressurized after shipping. One took a little more elbow grease to open up, but both kegs worked great. I changed the o-rings but they were in pretty good shape. I have one keg full of homebrew now and one full of root beer for the kids. Both work and look great!! Would definitely buy again and recommend.

I have 3 kegs , 2 are used like these and one new Torpedo. The used with the rubber handles and bottoms are much better. Easier to seal and easier to handle. Don't spend extra on new ones!!

The outside of the Kegs may not be pretty but the price is incredible for the Items, I ordered 2 and realized I needed a third and put in a second Order and Adventures in Homebrewing to help with the shipping just included both orders and saved me money. They were also really cool about it. I love this place. Every product I have bought has been priced great, great quality and the Customer service is the best.

Keg was in relatively good condition, works great.

My experience may be different from others. The keg I received looked like it was in good shape and did have pressure but, maybe 5psi. Certainly not pressurized to CO2 levels. And Definitely was NOT cleaned prior to shipping as others stated but this was listed in the product listing, so was expected. I would not order one of these without the add on upgrades. The O-rings in the one I got were toast. I have other kegs I've been using for 10 years that have better O-rings than the ones on this keg. And I would assume the poppits are equally as bad in this keg and need to be replaced. No point in taking a chance on those failing! I would also like to state that the rubber around the top and bottom of the keg seem to be degrading from UV exposure or age. Just touching these areas will cover your hands with black goo! Honestly, I would pay a few more bucks for the new ones and avoid replacing all the wearable parts! As now I'm concerned the pressure release valve will fail next.

I was a bit leery when I read that these weren't cleaned... I've seen my share of scary kegs from Craigslist. The keg did indeed have a 7up smell, but it was shiny in and out. It was as easy to clean as my legs, and was in great shape for being used. I ordered the new rings kit, but I didn't need it.

I have purchased 4 of these and 3 worked with zero problems. The fourth I took a short video of it leaking contacted AIH and they replaced the leaking keg. Would definitely purchase again.

I have purchased 5 used corny kegs from you in the past. All have performed well. All also had 11/16 ball locks on them. I just purchased a 6th keg and it arrived with two different sizes of ball black. One was 7/8" and one was ( I'm guessing here) about a 15/16" twelve star ball lock. I can't get the larger one off of the keg. Don't even know what to use. Help!!!

The keg arrived on time in the condition described. In the order notes I requested a non-black top if one was available, my note was read as the keg arrived with a green top (this keg will be used exclusively for root beer and I wanted it clearly identifiable). The keg was obviously pressure checked, as it arrived pressurized. Just a quick clean with Wesmar Glosan NC, then sanitization and it was ready to go for holding root beer (Sprecher Root Beer syrup also purchased here.)

Arrived with small amount of soda still inside. I thought they would be cleaned. I want to use for bubble water. It might take a while to clean the taste out.

Overall satisfied with this purchase. A quick clean and sanitize and I was ready to go. Rating 4 stars as the description states that new o rings were installed by AIH, but the o rings on my dip tubes were definitely not new and I had to replace. Luckily I had a set of o rings on hand. Also, I need to get new poppits as one was allowing air to escape as I was pressurizing the keg.

Very good value, the used product was in really good shape and holds pressure perfectly.

These arrived quickly. Definitely used, but still under pressure when they arrived. I'm using them and they are working great.
