Q: I plan to purchase this carboy. Would you recommend it for a 5 gallon Primary as well as the secondary that is mentioned in your description?
A: the carboys are 5 gallons to the neck, so a 5 gallon primary fermentation would be best done in a vessel with more head space to allow for krausen and off gassing while fermenting
Q: I want to use this carboy as a water storage jug. Do you have a plastic lid that can screw onto this carboy to seal it?

Q: Thinking of buying a 5-gal glass carboy with an airlock as a gift. Person did not specify which type of airlock. Which airlock should I get? I know nothing about it. He is beginner, quickly becoming novice.
A: Either airlock would work fine with these carboys. The 3 piece prevent any suck back into the fermenter during the anaerobic pahse of fermentation, so they are better for secondary. the 3 piece are easy to disassemble for cleaning and are better for primary fermentation.
Q: I have the carboy. Need the bung and airlock only.is this possible?

Q: Can these jugs be used with water coolers? If not, could you recommend place to get 5 gallon glass jugs for water coolers? thanks
A: Jugs that fit on a water cooler generally have a unique connection to seal the opening when in use. To make sure you find a jug that will work with a water cooler, I would reccomend contacting the manufacturer of the water cooler for a suggested retailer.
