Excellent piece of equipment, but slow on stovetop

Iíve been an avid homebrewer for the past 3+ years. I brew every 2 weeks, extract on my Kenmore elite ceramic stove top. Iíve upgraded just about every piece of equipment except my brew pot. I have been using the 8 gallon economy pot that came with my AIH kit. All batches are 6 gallon steep & boil. After a bunch of research of pots in this price range I settled on the G2. This summer I plan to make the jump to all-grain. Iíve been considering the brew easy system, so Iíd already have a component. My other option the G2 would act as my HTL. It arrived pretty quickly and as you would expect was well packed and arrived without a scratch, dent or ding. The Brewmometer was easy to install and stayed within 1 degree of my digital probe thermometer during my first batch with it. The rubber handles were also a nice touch and stayed much cooler than stainless steel ones. My only complaint is that this pot takes forever to heat water. It easily added 1 1/2 hours to my brew day. I was so shocked at how badly it performed that I decided to do a comparison against my economy 8 gal. Both pots started with 4 gallons of 70 degree water. My 8 gallon took about 20 minutes to hit 155, after a 5 min temp hold at 150 it took another 20 min to hit boil at 212. The G2 took over 50 minutes to hit 155. Didnít even bother seeing how long it would take to hit boil. I am holding onto the G2 for my all-grain setup, and may use it if I have nothing else going on for my brew day. I just wish Blichmann would have included some information about stovetop brewing with the pot. Excellent piece of equipment, but slow as hell on stovetop.
