Our Brand New 5 Gallon Ball Lock Corny Keg
I have always preferred the Ball Lock keg. I remember looking for used kegs after the church festival. But, now with these new AIH kegs, it is just easier to buy them new!
These kegs are 25 inches tall and 8.5 inches in diameter, the same size as the classic Pepsi kegs. NSF and ISO 9001 Certified, Stainless Steel with Double Rubber Handles.
Along with the double rubber handle on top, it sits on a rubber bottom. I have had a few of those single metal handle designs, but I definitely prefer this style. The double rubber handles make it easier to carry and allow the keg to be inverted for draining and cleaning.
The lid seals great and I have never had an issue with leaks. These have been the best kegs in my collection. They are high quality and work consistently.
They typically retail for $119.99, but they are regularly on sale for $75. Although shipping is additional, at $75, it is a great deal.
These are also available in a 1.75 gallon, 2.5 gallons, and 3-gallon version. The smaller sizes are great for splitting 5-gallon batches, doing small batches or for taking your homebrew on the go.
I have a pretty good sized refrigerator in my barn. I am able to stand the kegs upright and use the AIH Keg Faucet Adaptor to easily pour myself a pint. For smaller refrigerators, you can use the smaller keg sizes or a Picnic Tap.
Once I started kegging, I find it such a chore to bottle beer. I got started kegging with a simple kegging system. Look at the 5 Gallon Economy Ball Lock Keg System for a great starter option. For right around 150 bucks, you too could get your beer in kegs.
As an avid homebrewer, I really enjoy making wine. With just a little bit of equipment, you can use these kegs to serve your wine or cider. A good buy, well worth it.
