Q: Would this fit on a bayou kettle, and if not what would I need to make it fit?
A: Anvil has a 1/2" diameter pick up tube that the strainer mates with using a compression gasket on the inside of the strainer. If the kettle you are working with has a 1/2" pick up tube or can be one added to mate with the filter, it is possible this would work. otherwise looking into one of the 1/2' threaded bazooka style kettle screens for the Bayou kettles would be the best bet
Q: Can i adapt this for use in a Northern Brewer MegaPot? it has a female 1/2" ips fitting 1.5" off the bottom
A: The strainer is designed to fit over a dip tube measurign 1/2" as there is not an NPT thread on the strainer-You can add a dip tube with that dimension to the exisiting kettle and then the strainer could be put to use
Q: I already use a hop spider and fine nylon bag for my hop pellets, so I believe my trub is for the most part coagulated protein from the breaks.
Will this strainer help in blocking that?
A: This part is maid from a braided stainless material similar to a washing machine feed line for a comparison. It will help to block larger particulate, but may still allow some fine protein and sediment to pass
Q: This intended for pellet or leaf hops? Hard to tell from photos whether the mesh is fine enough to catch pellet particles.
A: This is designed to filter out pellet hops, as well as any trub in your wort.
