Good easy to make light beer
This is the easiest beer I've ever made . I haven't tried it without the brewvint 1% alcohol boost but i would think it would be a little too light without it. i used a whirlfloc tablet and got a really clear beer. i used Wyeast 1056 American Ale yeast. i would totally do this beer again and it will stay in my kegerator rotation.

Good party beer. "Kegs" great.
I loved the first batch! SO much so, I am working on a second batch to check for consistency.

Suprisingly Good
Thinking of what this beer would resemble, I didn't have high expectations for the result (purchased it purely for the $20 kit and thought it may be an appropriate lawn mower beer). Honestly, this turned out quite well. I used US05 yeast and fermented at 65F. If you have been in the St Louis area, this beer has more of a kraftig character than any of the B/M/C beers. This has been my go to beer so far this summer and I haven't been mowing my lawn often.

Having my first one, first time kegging and this turned out great. Nice easy flavor with just a sweet honey taste at the end. Would try this one again.

Awesome Brew
This light beer is my favorite beer now. Light, crisp, and has a light honey finish. It tastes between 2 famous light beers. A good beer for anytime not just summer, actually I'm having one now.

Is it my imagination or did you raise the price by like a third on this kit? Made it many times and like it much, but it seems to me you really jacked the price. No?

Gary gregg

Sale pricing and cost of kits will fluctuate and current cost the kit would run and any sale pricing will be listed on the items page to view before ordering

Q:
What yeast is recommended with this kit? I do not want to ferment cold.
Asked by:
Jeremy V Loebach

A:
The yeasts used for this kit would ferment in the 68-75 range as it uses American ale yeast that ferments at room temp for any of the provided options

Q:
If bittering hops are only sold in 1 oz. packages why do the instructions not include special instructions for using the proper amount? My latest beer tastes bitter and it's because I assumed you were sending me the proper amounts of ingredients for my recipe. praying it will mellow out but would have appreciated the heads up before I completed the recipe.
Asked by:
Robert Garrison
- 8/11/2017
A:
Sorry for any confusion on the kit. The instructions do list to only use 4 HBU's of the hop shipped. HBU's are a measure of the Alpha acids on the hops that allow us to keep the biterness the same, regardless of the alpha acid on the hop that particular season as this will vary from year to year. If we need 5 HBU's of a 10% Alpha Acid hop, we'd use 1/2oz. If the same hop the following year was only 2.5% Alpha acid, we'd need to use 2 full ozs to make up the same 5 HBU's to maintain consistency

Q:
Your description states 'specialty Grains'. What are the grains?
Asked by:
Ken Haycook
- 6/19/2017
A:
this particular batch actually does not contain a steeping grain. It uses 1lb of rice syrup solids to improve the body and gravity of the beer but not add extra residual color to the batch.

Aaron (6/21/2017)
Q:
A little confused on the bittering hops. The instructions show 4HBU Palisade for 60 minutes. I received a 1 oz packet Palisade with 8.4%AA. Do I put the entire 1 oz palisade in - if so, based on my fuzzy math, wouldn't this be 8HBU? Or do I put in .5oz so that it is roughly 4HBU? To get the IBU to work out correctly, I think I do .5oz but want to make sure.
Asked by:
guy
- 6/11/2017
A:
We only package hops in 1oz packets so you would need to cut an 8% AA unit Palisade down to 1/2oz to achieve the 4-5HBU needed for the kit

Q:
Does this kit require cold fermentation?
Asked by:
Josh Turel
- 3/7/2017
A:
This particular recipe is fermenting at Ale temps if using the recommended yeast options. A lager yeast can be added separate from the kit if you prefer to try the cold fermentation method with the recipe, but it is not required.

Yeast does not come with this kit. You will have to purchase it separately. We have a drop down option with the yeasts we recommend for this recipe. Have a great day. Thanks!

Asked by:

Bring 3 gallons of water up to boil, add the malt extract and stir so that it does not stick to the bottom. 45 minutes into the boil add the rice syrup solids.
