Q: What size poppets are these fitted for? Forgive my question, but I have the same fittings for a kegerator kit I got from you guys not too long ago and they don't fit all the way on or will get stuck on the poppets and I have to almost break them to pry them off, even after lubing them. It is a used keg, should I just replace the poppets?
A: The disconnects should be able to work on kegs with any standard poppet size in the post itself.
The need to pry off the disconnects is normally due to the posts being reversed as the gas, and liquid post diameters, are different. The liquid side will not have any marking or notching on the hex nut, and the gas side will have a notch or cut along the hex to denote that post-the gas side will be grey or white for the disconnect, and the liquid side will be black
Q: What materials are these made of, and are they suitable for use with acidic beverages?
A: These are made from HDPE food grade plastic and stainless bearings. These are approved for, and can be used with Beer, wine, Soda, kombucha, Coffee, Soda, Water and Mixed drinks
Q: Are these CM Becker disconnects?
A: At this time the disconnects being shipped are Shirron branded disconnects. We have found these are comprable in quality with our in house testing between the two brands
Q: I am currently using 3/16" ID (7/16" OD) hose for both the gas and liquid lines in my keezer and am looking to add a couple more kegs. There are checkboxes for "Single 1/4" Swivel Flare nut x 3/8" Barb for Gas MFL disconnect [+$3.99]" and "Single 1/4" Swivel Flare nut x 1/4" Barb for Liquid MFL disconnect [+$1.79]" Do I need to check either one of these?
A: The box does not need to be checked in order to add the item to your cart. If you need swivels for the line that you have, the 1/4" x 1/4" (item 91-2561a) will be just what you need. Thanks for the question!
Q: I have 5/16" ID gas line and 3/16" ID liquid line. Will the barbs that I can order with this (3/8" gas and 1/4" liquid) fit that tubing? If not, can you recommend barbs that will?
A: Yes, the barb add-on options are designed to work with the 5/16(3/8" barb addition) and the 3/16 tubing(1/4" barb addition)
Q: The add uses the singular for the fitting as when you check the box your getting one of the fittings, but two are needed? Can you clarify how many fitting (for attaching the hose) You get when ordering fittings one or enough to build a complete hose in either 1/4 or 3/8.. thanks
A: You need both for hooking up to beer line and gas line. So check both boxes if needed!
Q: Can I use this on both ball lock and pin lock kegs?
A: These disconnects will only function on ball lock style kegs.
