Best Beer Ever!!!

I have been home brewing for 20 years or so, mostly in the winter months when there isn't much else to do in the cold Upper Peninsula of Michigan. I brew mostly dark ales, stouts and porters, with an occasional IPA or cream ale thrown in for variety, maybe a red ale or American pale once in a while too. I rarely try the same recipe twice, even though many of them are very similar.

I ordered this kit a couple years ago, thinking it was just another porter to add to my list of accomplished beers. Then, I found out something amazing!!!! This was the best beer I ever brewed. So I ordered it again. I have yet to start on this second kit as I am busy with lots of other things this fall, but once I settle into my winter routine, it will be the first beer that I will brew.

It has so much flavor and body. The head is dark and chocolatey, and the beer coats the glass. It is a smooth drinker and a great after dinner beer. Well, it is a great anytime beer.

Beer makes me happy, but this one make me exuberant!

Buccaneer Baltic Porter

Love this beer. Let it age at least 3-4 month, it gets so much better.
This is my second time brewing this beer. Last year I added juniper berries
and sweet gale. This year I boiled the sweet gale at last ten minutes of boil.
No juniper berries this year, instead I went with gin barrel chips that will hopefully
give flavors of juniper and lavender. The gin barrel chips will be added to the secondary. Beer is in primary as I write. I should have it bottled late August so
it will be ready for winter. Kit was out of stock until July so I got a late start on it.
Not blaming AIH at all. These things happen. PROST.

Not bad

This one turned out ok, not great but not bad. Lacks backbone with the flavor. I am trying to find food it pairs well with - definitely not spicy food but maybe sweet foods like dessert. A very light tasting porter.
