As advertised

Using pump to move sap from collector to elevated storage tank. Works well. run dry feature is great. it does not have much suction at all. I use 1" dia. hose on inlet side for good pressure. pump lifts 8' to tank with good flow till air gets in the line. once air gets in the inlet it loses its push.

Finally!!

I have been brewing since my University days (a long time ago), When I hit 60 a year ago, I decided that I was going to give up my gas fired kettles and go with Ekettles and controllers. Every thing is stainless steel and arranged on a stainless work table that I added wheels to. The crowning glory was the Chugger Pump with the stainless head. They work flawlessly! To be honest, they work better than my old mismatched pumps . And they look great!

Chugged pump

This pump does move product as described. Also as described it does not self prime so it needs to be set lower in your system. It does not do well when you try to close off some of the flow for sparge/ lauter, it wants to cavitat. I batch sparge thru a screen to over come this which works well for me as my efficiency is equal to or above my clone recipes. I gravity feed the sparge water from a second cooler and pump into the boil pot thru a screen hooked on the side of the boil pot from the mash tun. When unhooking hoses, make sure you have shut all values and have a pan to catch what is left in the hoses and pump.
