Cultures for Health Feta Starter Culture
The perfect way to begin making amazing Feta cheese in your very own kitchen! A crumbly, delicious cheese typically found in salads and entrees, Feta cheese is traditionally made with goat's milk and requires a specially formulated culture blend to create its unique texture and flavor. Feta is a medium-fast to fast acidifying culture with no gas production, or citrate fermentation. This culture uses L. bulgaricus and L. helveticus, bacterias that both result in a higher amount of proteolytic activity, creating a creamier and tastier cheese! This Feta Starter Culture includes 8 direct-set starter cultures to begin making feta cheese. These cultures are one-time-use only and cannot be recultured. Cultures are easy to use, and require almost no maintenance or care. Store in your freezer until ready to use and culture at room temperature (72-77 F). Direct-set cultures contain both starter culture and rennet.
