Wish I had started with this thing...
Started brewing in 2011 and used my trusty 5 gallon pot for...about a year or so before realizing I was kinda tired of boil overs, adding tap water at the end of the brew to top off the wort, etc. From there I moved into an 8 gallon aluminum pot which served me very well for the next 7 years. After attending homebrew con in 2019 and seeing some really cool setups, I decided it was time for an upgrade.
This pot nailed it for my purposes in the area of cost, size (NO MORE BOILOVERS!), and a single, simple port to attach a ball valve to move things via pump. The addition of it working with an induction surface is icing on the cake.
I've used it for 5 significantly different batches (11% IPA to a 5% Chocolate Rose Stout) now and have almost dialed it in with the upgrades I've made to my brewhouse.
Bottom line, this pot is a GREAT investment and I'm looking forward to many more batches of beer!
