Q: How about Brewers yeast
A: This includes just the equipment needed to make wine, not the wine ingredients themselves.
Q: Does this kit include yeast? We make our own maple syrup and would like everything needed to make Maple wine, also wild grape wine. We are 1st timers to wine making.
A: This kit would not include yeast or ingredients but does have a recipe book with over 100 recipes inside to use for determining the ingredients and additives you would want for the style of wine you're looking to product
Q: Never attempted to make wine ,need help to get started. What else do I need with the deluxe vinters best wine making kit. Thanks old Marine in Waskom,Tx.
A: This would give you all of the equipment needed outside of bottles to produce a batch of wine of your choosing
Q: Where can I purchase the actual wine concentrate to make the stuff?
A: The offering of ingredient kits and recipes we have can be found under the Winemaking tab>Winexpert Wine Kits> choose the style of wine you wish to produce
Q: Both of your equipment kits show that purple book in the center of the photograph. Does this come with the kit, since it is in the picture? The kit I received did not have the book.
A: It does not come with the book, it would need to be added on separately. I apologize for any confusion with the picture!
Q: Does this kit have instructions and everything needed for 6 gal?
A: This would be the equipment side of things needed, but the recipe sheet is normally provided when you purchase the ingredient kit. Recipes can be found in the book on item #24-7360. This covers 100 different fruint and country wines that can be scaled up to 6 gallons to add into the order.
Q: Does this kit have a PET plastic carboy? Is it BPA free?
A: The kit does contain a PET bucket and carboy that are both food grade and BPA free by design
Q: Does this kit come with instructions on how to make the wine using the equipment?
A: The kit will come with a list of the included equipment, but not with a how-to or instructions for producing the wine, This will be more specific to the recipe of the wine your working on,. For beginner books, Techniques in Home Wine making and home Wine making Step by Step would be a couple of good ones to check out
Q: Does this come with a package of cleaner and a package of sulphite? My kit says I need both of those. Does it come with a wine thief?
A: This kit comes with a santitizer but does not come with sulfite or a wine thief.
Q: Is this kit what I would use for making wine from fresh grapes? Is it difficult for a beginner?
A: This can be used for making 6 gallon batches of fresh grape wine or wine from concentrate. It is easier to start of with the wine kits we sell, but making wine with grapes is not too over the top either!
Q: Does this have recipes? Does it tell you how to make the wine? Where can I get the sugar to make the wine?
A: No, but any of our 6 gallon wine kits can be used. They come with a full list of instructions, unless you are using your own juice then I would refer to a recipe. We do not provide. We sell corn sugar by the pound if you choose this route.
Q: I have been raising my own grapes for last 4 years. is this deluxe wine making kit all that i will need to make wine?
A: This would include most of the equipment you need to make wine. You would be missing a grape crusher/fruit press, bottles, corks, cleaner, sanitizer, and ingredients.
Q: What model floor corker do you get when selecting the Floor Corker option? I am looking for a higher end starter equipment kit. I see the glass carboy is an upgrade but is it batter than the PET plastic type?
One more question. As a newbie, What would be a good red wine kit that I would not need to age to long before drinking? Don't want to be discouraged with my first batch :-) Any recommendations?
A: When adding the floor corker option, you will receive our Portuguese Floor Corker ( Item Number 24-4042 ). Glass carboys are typically considered a higher end option for wine and beer making kits, but they both have their advantages. Glass is heavier and can break, while plastic carboys are lighter and won't shatter if dropped. Plastic will need to be replaced over the years, where as glass carboys will last forever, as long as they stay scratch free inside and are not dropped. I would recommend our Selection Premium California Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot (Item Number 24-3253 ) for a great beginner batch. This wine would be ready to drink in 6 weeks! Thanks!
Q: Does the carboy include the filler valve on bottom as shown in picture?
A: No, I apologize for the misleading photo. The Better Bottle you would be receiving would be the non-ported version, which is just like this one except without the hole for the valve.
