Q: Kit comes with a rubber bung and airlock, but the instructions say to use a foam stopper or a piece of tin foil, So why a rubber stopper and not at least a foam stopper?
A: the foam stopper, a piece of foil or a bung and airlock can be used. The goal with any of the three is to allow gas to escape but not allow outside contaminates into the container
Q: Is it possible to order this kit with a 3 piece airlock instead of the S-shaped one?
A: you can request this in the comments section of the order for the shipping team to consider when picking the order
Q: can the flask be heated?
A: the flask can be heated or cooled-it is considered a "lab grade" flask
Q: I bought the Deluxe kt but have a hard time following the written instructions. Does anyone have a video how to set everything up?
A: We do not currently have a video available but are already have to chat voice to voice on any questions at 313-277-2739 Ext 1 when you are free to phone in
Q: Have flasks, is there a kit without sending flask? Thanks, Ken
A: The full kit is not available without the flask but the stir plate, pencil DME and drops are all available to order a la carte from the site as needed
Q: What is the largest flask size this stir plate will support? Can I use a 3000 mL or 5000 mL flask with it?
A: This stir plate is large enough to accommodate a 2000 mL flask.
Q: Is the 2000 mL Erlenmeyer flask that comes with the deluxe yeast starter kit a borosilicate or Pyrex flask, or a lesser-quality glass? Thanks!
A: The flasks are lab grade and can stand up to the extream change from hot to cold for chilling after heating and can be used on a direct heat source without issue
