Works great
Small size is nice an portable. Didn't pre-chilled but by the 2nd or third pour the beer was chilled to appropriate temp. Used it for 4 days straight and only added ice once on each of the days after dumping some of the water and worked great.

This item worked great. I used it for a gender reveal at a baby shower. I was sent the results of the test and brewed a beer with blue coloring (It’s a boy). I also made a blue raspberry lemonade so the mother and the father could both tap something and drink it. It was a Hugh success.

Update to original review after 2 years of use
I purchased my 3 jockey boxes almost 2 years ago. I've had a few issues that others may want to know before purchasing. First was the handle on one of my (empty) boxes popped off and the plastic the handle snaps to on the cooler is now damaged. This resulted in the handle not able to be affixed again. Second was two of my boxes had coils that were not seated properly due to the poor bends of the coil creating tension. This issue caused a lot of wasted beer during events. I was pretty pissed. To correct this, I had to disassemble the lines and bend the coils by hand to try to relieve some of the tension in order to get a proper seal. I still have to keep an eye on all the coils to make sure they're not in a funky angle breaking the grommet seal or outright popping out the shanks. I've been considering either harvesting the parts and building a single 6-tap box, where I properly seat the coils, or selling them and getting something more durable. Nevertheless, these small boxes are handy for small events.

Jockey Box
I had planned to build my own Jockey Box but after pricing all the parts decided to go with this as it was about the same price and already completed. I was concerned about the small size for a 2 tap unit but for no reason. Recently used it for a tailgate (UGA/USC) on a 98 degree day. Filled it half with water and half with ice served 2 2.5 gallon kegs and never had an issue with foam or beer temp. Granted I did have the kegs sitting in a cooler with ice. I feel good that even if the kegs had been warm it would still have worked. So far so good. I will report back if anything changes.

Superior product
A lot of sites sell jockey boxes because other than the cost of the materials, it's really not that tough to put them together. The thing that sets these apart is that the fit and finish is superior and the price is simply one of the lowest available. A lot of homemade jockey boxes just take lines out the back without using a shank, but these have a shank and a plate built on the back to keep things nice and tight. I liked the first one I bought so much, I bought a second one a few days later!

Great for parties
I used this for the first time over the weekend for a crowd of about 30 people and it was a huge hit. The only issue I had was when it came shipped one of the coils was out of alignment and it took some effort to get it where it needed to go (and stay there without leaking). Everything else was great. With a few modifications I even use it on brew days as a chiller (run the garden hose through the coils and out the other end into my immersion chiller).

Quality product
If you can catch this box on a good sale and can apply your rewards balance towards it, this becomes an amazing deal. You couldn't build one for less money if you go that route. I purchased 3 of these and they are ideal for gatherings where you want a better setup then a tap directly connected to keg. Expect to use about 15-20# of ice with water to get a good cooling scenario. You don't need high regulator pressure (20+ PSI) to use this box, unlike cold plates or 120ft coils. I plan to use a dry erase board as signage propped up by the cooler handle per box. The place where you can expect additional costs are for the tubing and connectors. Just account for that in your budget. If you get 2 or more, then you should also consider a gas distributor manifold.

Frickin. Awesome.
I needed dispensing equipment for a week long vacation rental. I have the necessary CO2 stuff for two kegs and did a bucket/ice setup for a buddy's wedding. But that was a lot of free ice we used for one event. I knew that was a less desirable situation so I started to look into Jockey boxes. Research led me to the stainless steel coils vs the plate chillers. AIH had an amazing sale on this. It worked BEAUTIFULLY. We poured 2 entire kegs in 6 days, changed the ice 3x total. 1 21 lb bag is all that's needed. Those sell for ~$3 or so. We supplemented a few frozen water bottles since the water isn't a problem for the coils (but I understand it's not good for plates chiller plates?). The ambient temp of the room was ~ 72* constantly. I now have it stored away with Star San sitting in the tubing/coils. This is probably one of the best purchases I've made. Thank you AIH for an outstanding product!

Great product
We have a jockey box with a cold plate it works ok. But we were attending the Fresh Hop Ale Festival and wanted a coil jockey box. Research indicated it would perform better in the conditions we were expecting. 12 hours in what could be warm temperatures. Felt we had a back up with the cold plate if I was wrong. We were impressed with the performance I felt it was much better than the cold plate. There were thousands in attendance and we poured a few kegs and the beer stayed cold.

Q:
I'm interested in your 2 tap jockey box just unsure what else I would need to complete it for use please let me know Ed
Asked by:
Edmund J Sewruk
- 1/10/2021
A:
The box would need the two draft line add ons with the correct connections for either your Ball lock, pin lock, or commercial kegs. That would complete the liquid side of the process. You would need a co2 tank regulator and the correct lines to pressurize the system as well

adding in the first option for the draft lines, and the addition for add-disconnects, select pin lock for your kegs, would be what is needed to cover the dispensing side of thigns for the jockey boxes we sell

Q:
About how long will this hold ice in a 98 degree day? Will it chill warm beer on that same day not pre chilled? What extra connections would I need to buy to serve from 2 ball locks (what connection from kegs to jockey box? Thanks!!!
Asked by:
Jeff Smith
- 3/15/2020
A:
The coolers will hold ice on warmer days for 8-10 hours from past experience. The outside temps will vary this a bit so use that as a ball-park time only.
Warm beer will be chilled by the coils on ice, but it would be best to have the kegs chilled if possible as the warm beer moving through the cold coils can cause foaming issues in most cases. For ball lock kegs, the first add on the drop-down of the two jockey line assemblies, and two ball lock disconnects can be selected to complete the connections to those style kegs

Q:
Is a 50-foot coil really enough to cool the beer down as well as keep the foam down after transit? We may not be able to arrive at the event beforehand to let everything settle down.
Asked by:
Mike
- 1/3/2020
A:
the 50 foot coils do work well to put a restriction on the beer enough to limit foaming when the pressure and temperature of the beverage are low enough.

Hello, I recently purchased this jockey (from AIHB) box but now need the proper hardware so I can hook up beer lines to the back of the cooler. I assume I need a SS tail piece assembly? If so, would you happen to have the part# for this? If not the correct hardware, what would I need to hook beer lines up to back of jockey box? Thanks.
Asked by:

A:
Item ID 99-ShankLineBaseSS has the needed hardware to connect from the back shank to the keg. You'll just need to choose the type of keg connection between either Cornelius style keg, or commercial for the right connection

I want to dispense from two separate homebrew kegs (ball locks). What additional parts do I need to connect to the kegs? My event is this Saturday so I need to make sure I order everything at once.
Asked by:
Joe Caiola
- 8/12/2019
A:
The jockey box would cover the liquid side only so you would still need to set up a co2 soruce of some kind for pressure. ON the jockey box page, other than the box itself you would want to add the first option for the 2 line assemblies, and 2 additional ball lock, or pin lock disconnects depending the kegs your planning to serve from. That would get the liquid serving side of things taken care of!

for your dual faucet jockey box, what do I need to buy to get a full system that works with cornelius kegs? I have a dual regulator and co2 tanks. thanks!
Asked by:
Rick Collette
- 7/31/2019
A:
if you already have the co2 tank and regulator with lines, the first optional add on to the jockey box from the menu would give you the liquid line connections off the back to the kegs, and they would just need to choose the disconnect style from the 2nd set of options for ball lock, pin lock or commerical kegs
