Six brews in, this false bottom hasn't failed me so far (touch wood) even when mashing flaked wheat. I was really concerned that I would encounter a stuck sparge after the step mash for a Witbier - with help of rice hulls and some dedicated stirring of the mash, not a problem. All other mashes involving modified grains were a breeze. Word of caution: be careful of not getting cuts/scrapes on your fingers the first few times you try to get it set up in your mash tun - stainless steel edge on the dip tube cutout is initially quite sharp!
