Fat Tire Clone Recipe Kit

It’s Fat Tire! If you haven’t brewed it yet, you’re missing out on a classic American Amber! Toasty malt flavors (sorta like biscuits just pulled from the oven) coasting in equilibrium with crisp hoppiness. Delicious stability - in the world of sometimes-precarious beer flavors – is perhaps what prompted one consumer who wrote us to say, “this beer just makes you smile.”

Original Gravity : 1.055
Final Gravity : 1.012
Color / SRM : Copper/Amber
Alcohol by Volume : 5.70%
IBU (anticipated, alpha acids can fluctuate) : 20

Specialty Grains : Biscuit, CaraMunich, Victory, Munich, Chocolate
Hops : Willamette, Saaz

Awesome beer!
This is the first home brew I've done since college (5 years ago) and I must say this recipe came out wonderful! Well done AIH.

Three Thumbs Up
So... I don't actually have three thumbs, but if I did, they'd all be up. I don't have a bottle of actual Fat Tire here to compare to, but if memory serves, it is a good likeness. That aside, it's delicious. I wanted something uncomplicated for the upcoming warmer weather. This fits the bill perfectly. Just used the recommended base dry yeast for this. Might try a Belgian strain next time to see if I can taste the difference. If you like Fat Tire, you'll like this kit period.

Excellent Beer!
This is one of the few beers that I have brewed multiple times. Although not exactly the same as the original, I like it much better! Great taste with a mild hop presence. The perfect lawn mowing beer...

Total success!!!!
I distributed 20 bottles among my friends and I keep receiving calls about the great test of this brew. This was was a total success! Great recipe. With less than 10 bottles left I can't wait to brew it again (all grain this time). We did a blind test at home and only 1 person (out of 5) liked the original more than this recipe. Excellent work guys!

Good
I make several of AIH's Reds and a few other receipes. This was my first Amber. It's good - but I think the Munich / Cara-Munich is too pronounced, at least for me.

Spot On
This is a great kit and the taste is spot on with Fat Tire. The instructions were clear and would be easy for any kit brewer. I will definitely purchase this again and recommend it!

Great clone recipe!
I just tapped a keg of this beer, and I'm very happy with how much like the commercial beer this turned out! It's a great clone kit and a tasty beer.
