Safale US-05 Fermentis

Species : Ale
Fermentation Temp Range (°F) : 60-72
Apparent Attenuation Range (%) : 73-77
Flocculation : Medium-Low
Alcohol Tolerance : 11%

Pitching/Fermentation : Sprinkle the yeast in minimum 10 times its weight of sterile water or wort at 25 to 29°C (77°F to 84°F). Leave to rest 15 to 30 minutes. Gently stir for 30 minutes, and pitch the resultant cream into the fermentation vessel. Alternatively, pitch the yeast directly in the fermentation vessel providing the temperature of the wort is above 20°C (68°F). Progressively sprinkle the dry yeast into the wort ensuring the yeast covers all the surface of wort available in order to avoid clumps. Leave for 30 minutes, then mix the wort using aeration or by wort addition

Notes : American ale yeast producing well balanced beers with low diacetyl and a very clean, crisp end palate. Forms a firm foam head and presents a very good ability to stay in suspension during fermentation.

Best Styles : Most American Styles

Fantastic Yeast
So far I've used this ale yeast on a 10 gallon batch of Oktoberfest and a 5 gallon batch of Pale Ale. Both times it has taken off fast and finishes very clean. Overall I'm very impressed with this yeast and will probably use S-05 or S-04 in all of my ales moving forward, unless they call for a specialized yeast.

My go-to "House Yeast"
US-05 is by far my favorite yeast. It is a go-to for a large number of my beers. It's like half the cost of most liquid yeasts and it does just as well if not better. The only other strain I use as much is S-04. I love Fermentis.

I have used this yeast strain on probably 25 batches of beer. Cut open and just pour as is into the fermenter, shake fermenter and that's it. Never had problem and beer turns out great! Price could be better, local supply store has it for same price.

My go-to yeast!
Still one of my favorites. Learn about temp control and it works really well. Keep it cold and don't rush it to get going during the first few days; be patient. After a week or so let the temp rise to around 70F to let it finish up. Follow the rehydration directions, put it in some 90f water about 30mins before pitching; stir once in awhile and pitch away!
