Anti-Foam Drops

Minimize the loss on fermenting beer and transfer a slightly larger quantity in your existing fermenter. Our foam control is a vegetable oil-based antifoam. Proper use to control foam does not affect the head on your finished beer, and can actually increase the head by retaining head-forming compounds that would have been blown off during ferment. Vegetable oil is a known yeast nutrient and will be consumed by the yeast during fermentation of beer before bottling or kegging and will not blind filter media. Add 1 drop per gallon. Comes in a bottle with eye dropper. Good for about 50 batches of beer.

Our manufacturer adds that the amount of antifoam is a “rule of thumb” and the actual amount needed is determined by the brewing system used, the type of beer being brewed and type of yeast used for the beer.  Higher original gravity beers like DIPA, big Belgian-Style Ales, and barley wines, for example, may take more; lower O.G. beers like Kolsch and light lagers generally take less.

Works Great!
I just started fermenting in corny kegs and wanted to maximize my batch size. I put just under 5 gallons in a corny with foam control and just had a little krausen in my blowoff.

Why Haven't I Heard Of This Before?
A bottle of this stuff came with the starter kit. Didn't need it for the starter, but when my fermenter started spewing over like one of those charcoal snakes you used to light as a kid, I frantically found it and added a few drops. Knocked it right down. I was able to do a full 60 sec oxygen infusion with minimal foaming. As a brewer that likes to get the most out of his brew day, this product allows you to fill your kettle and your fermentor to its limit without fear of boil overs or blow- offs. Next brew day I can safely add a gallon and a half easily without worry. What's not to love?

Love this stuff
I have been using this for a few years in the boil pot. Have not had a boil over since. Sure beats constantly watching with a spray bottle.

Works great so far
My first time brewing anything is the cider I just started a few days ago, it unexpectedly started foaming and the foam built up and went into the airlock overnight. I wasn't expecting to have to use the anti-foam on the cider but as soon as a drop hit the cider the foam started disappearing almost instantly. It was an amazing sight to be had. Will be trying it on my first beer attempts this next coming weekend.
