-2 Genesis Sanitary Inner Liners
-Fermenter Lid & Gasket
-Rubber Stopper & S-Shaped Airlock

Nice jug, east to clean. I installed a bung to attach my hose to for bottling. Liners work well and the bubbler screws right in the cap.

Great buy
Amazing product and the material was way better than I'd hoped. It's sturdy and roomy enough to clean thoroughly by hand. I got bag/liners also however 3 were sliced. It looked as though they were accidently cut from using a blade to open the box maybe? But it does no in any way reflect my opinion on the company or product and still highly suggest ordering from them. I opted out of using the liners and am very happy with the product.

Great carboy
Wide mouth, easy to clean, racking cane fits perfectly inside bung hole, has markings for us gallons and liters. I purchased three of these and just finished my third brew. Great fermenters. Handles make it easy to move and yes the handles are capped off at either side. NO LIQUID CAN GET INSIDE THE HANDLES. Big mouth makes it much easier to clean than other carboys. The flat side or face of the fermenter makes it easy to install spigots for easy transfer or gravity readings. Like many other reviewers have said, forget the bags. Just ferment in the container and clean it with oxy and starsan.

Perfect fermenter
Don't use the liners, just ferment inside the container. Perfect size and good headspace for 5.5 gallons. Lid seals really tight (however make sure it is on straight). The clean up on this is quick and uses less water. No need for heavy glass carboys or carboy cleaners. It used to take me hours and gallons of water for my carboy...then all the accessories you need to clean one carboy. Get this now!! What a great price for too.

Good deal
I like these so much that I bought 4. I drilled them all and put the cheap 1" valve in the bottom and they are great fementation tanks. Easy to clean too.

Perfect!
This worked great for me. The handles are very handy. This fermenter is much easer to clean than a conventional carboy.

Works well
No real issues with these as of yet. They are easy to clean, which was needed since one came to me very dirty. But they work well. The lids fit right and there is plenty of headroom for a 5 gallon batch. The handles make them much easier to move than the barrel shaped fermenters. Don't bother with the liners. They are a complete pain in the ass.

Great item, bags are maybe not necessary
This is a very well built piece. No concern about wimpy handles or too much flexing. It's made of HPDE so it can accept hot wort directly (not sure if the bags can). I've only used a bag once and found it clunky ... adding wort required a funnel which otherwise wouldn't be needed with the wide mouth. Adding dry hops was hard too because the bag was twisted a bit and therefore didn't have a clear shot down to the liquid, I had to jab them down. So, I probably won't be using bags much but this fermenter is great overall!

I love these!
I picked up one of these at my LHBS for $30, and I just love it, so I was super stoked, to see these on sale here for 1/3 the price. I've never used the liner, seems like it would make a mess.

Good without the liner
I won one of these at Homebrew Con and was excited to try it out. Over all it is a fermenter. Biggest issue I have, and the only reason for a 2 star rating is the liner. A) these might seem nice but are a hassle to use with the lid properly and fill the fermenter. Also, the bag does not fill out well and you can't really tell what is going on inside while filling it until you spill over the opening. That being said, once you start to use this without the liners it is great. Easy to clean and much more user friendly.

Q:
Why are these discounted so much?? Makes one wonder.......... Also, sanitized liner?? Why?? What's up? This is one of those things that seems too good to be true!
Asked by:
Paula LaRocca
- 3/21/2021
A:
This item is discounted as they are no longer in production and being sold while supplies last. Otherwise there is no issues with the fermenter when shipped. The liner Idea is so that you do not need to clean the fermenter itself between uses but rather use it as a holding vessel, with the liner inside, that is sanitary, to remove and discard them between batches. Similar to lining a baking pan with foil, vs cooking directly on top of the pan itself, to limit the need for cleaning the holding vessel

I am thinking of using the liners to make Eis Wine and other wine. Is it possible to de-gas withour destroying the liner? If so, how?
Asked by:
Jerry Mansfield
- 12/16/2020
A:
we have not tested the liners with a drill mounted wine whip for potential damage. Using a lower speed process for this or switching to manual degassing using a spoon or paddle would be the best bet to limit damage on the bags

Q:
why the liner? can it be used without it, flavor issues? sanitation?
Asked by:
robert a harris
- 10/30/2020
A:
the liners are sterile packed so it limits the need to clean the fermenter between uses since we are fermenting in the bag, and not the fermenter itself, and then tossing the liner. The fermenter can be used without the liners but will need to be cleaned between uses

Asked by:

you can produce smaller batches in the fermenter. but would only be able to ferment 1 batch at a time in the main fermenter, with each bag since they are single use

Q:
I use a yeast starter and generally have a very vigorous fermentation. The tapered top concerns me, is there enough head space for a good fermentation or will the krausen head quickly push up and out due to the taper?
Asked by:
Wade Stephens
- 9/10/2019
A:
the open space in the top should allow for a fair amount of kruasen to form on a 5 gallon batch. Rigging a blow off to the lid can still be done to limit any issues with too much co2 build up on higher gravity batches if needed

Can this be "safely" used without the liners?
Asked by:

This can be used with or without the liners. The liners provide an option for less cleaning/sanitizing and would nose pose a threat to the container itself being scratched during cleaning

This would have to fit in my small chest freezer during fermentation with enough clearance for me to close the lid. How tall is the Genesis fermenter with and without the airlock?
Asked by:
Willard Shinn

A:
the ferementer without the airlock is 21.5" and the airlock, depending on the type used, would about about 5-6" max to the top

Q:
1) Punted bottom? 2) Gallon markings? 3) I'm way too cheap for throwaway liners... tell me why I'd like this over your other fermenters. THANKS
Asked by:
House of Ale Repute
- 3/19/2018
A:
The bottom is slightly indendted but ot that would be considered a punt like on a wnie bottle. The fermenter does have graduation marks and would function without the liner if needed. The liner limits the risk of scratching and discoloration for longevity on the system
