I bought these caps on my last order. Found out my old capper was broke. Which hand held capper will work with these caps?
A: for a hand held capper either 73-RLBCR or 24-4014 will work great!
Q: Are twist bottle caps available? A lot of breweries are switching to "twist" top bottles which is drying up my used bottle market.
A: Twist or thread style caps used for beer bottles need to be applied mechanically as there is not a good way for home users to apply the cap and still provide an air tight and liquid tight seal.
Q: How do I apply these tops to the bottles? Do I have to have any other special equipment
A: We also sell bottle cappers, needed to apply these.
Q: Do they keep ALL the pressure in the bottle ?
I complete the fermentation in the bottle to produce sparkling apple wine and beer.
I have found that the "oxygen....." type do not, resulting in mostly flat beer/wine.
A: The oxygen barrier caps are designed to keep the oxygen out of the bottles. Fermentation is not recommended in bottles. The pressure inside may be affecting the bottle caps, causing co2 to escape.
Q: Are these the caps that absorb the excess oxygen in the bottle neck?
A: These do not have that feature, they have a double seal which ensures that oxygen stays outside of the bottle.
