Gooder Than Guinness Stout Recipe Kit

This very simple, low gravity Dry Stout is an all-time favorite of mine. With a low ABV you'll find it hard to have just one. I highly recommend using an Irish ale yeast with this one but you can find great results using the S-04 dry yeast as well. This beer is great served as is. Put it on a nitro system, and it rocks!

Good beer
I am really enjoying this, but like a few other reviewers, not exactly what I was expecting and is really nothing like Guinness. Not really much like a stout either. The color is more chocolate brown. However its a great tasting beer with rich notes and flavors. Easy to make and easy to drink!

Smooth dark stout
It's not quite Guinness but it's a tasty stout that I really enjoy. Also you can't complain about the price.

Good, but not what I expected
This was a really good beer, but not at all what I was expecting. Based on the name I was expecting something similar to Guinness Stout. In my opinion this came across more as a Dark Brown Ale than a stout. While the flavor was good it did not have that coffee like taste that I usually associate with Stouts, and while dark it was not black. I still greatly enjoyed the beer and will brew it again.

Great first try
I am new to the homebrew scene, and chose Gooder than Guiness as my first try. The only snafu I encountered was when I noticed that the recipe called for 0.7oz of hops and hop bag sent with the kit said 1oz. I noticed this AFTER I had added hops. So, even if my brew turned out not tasting quite like the original it set out to clone, it was still very much a simple, smooth, easy to drink, enjoyable 1st batch! (BTW, I am at AIH's site to order another kit for round 2, and decided to review!).

Easy makin', easy drinkin'
It's the early winter and a great time of year for a stout. I read a stout recipe that uses two containers of Carnation Malted Milk, so I wanted to give it a try. It's in the fermenter now and it smelled great. Can't wait to pop open a bottle soon. Only reason for a four-star review is that I haven't actually tried it yet.
