One of my favorites

This produced a delicious amber. It is less sweet than an Oktoberfest, but not as hoppy as an IPA. My dearest wife who hates IPAs really likes this beer. It's a beautiful copper color with a nice creamy head. The recipe was straight forward and easy to follow. Two weeks in primary, two weeks in secondary, and two to four weeks in bottle. I will definitely make this again.

First time AIH purchase, happy so far

I rarely leave reviews on anything I buy, and I buy pretty much everything online nowadays, including most of my brewing equipment and ingredients (except yeast and grains - LHBS for that). I've always bought all my extract kits from Northern Brewer and went out on a limb trying AIH. The free shipping kit enticed me - cheap, no shipping costs. I was delighted with the convenient packaging and quality of the ingredients. Specialty grains were already packaged in a muslin sack, all I had to do was drop in the kettle. My kit came with 7 lbs LME. I liked how that was split into one 5lb jar and two 1lb jars - I like to start with a kit and make it my own by cannibalizing parts from one kit to use in others, mixing & matching, etc. I also like how the jars have a wide mouth, making it easy to get in there with a spatula to get every drop out. Each of the hop additions were portioned out as needed in the recipe. I can't say much for the recipe itself because I did modify it a fair amount - I wanted to use most of the ingredients to make something similar that I've made in the past, and it was more economical buying this kit for the ingredients that came with it. Overall, pleasant buying experience, convenient packaging, ingredients seem fresh and high quality. I'll be coming back here again.
