Q: Party Star 5 liter kegs - what is the metal made from aluminum or stainless steel??
A: these are made from aluminum
Q: If your going to use a co2 do you put priming sugar in the keg . For carbonation
A: priming sugar would be needed to use for carbonation. the co2 charges can be used for dispensing but typically take quite a few to carbonate, making that part of the process more costly vs. using sugar
Q: How long does the carbonation last in the gravity fed option before the beer becomes too flat?
A: This will vary a bit from batch to batch but once air is introduced, it is best to try to consume the beer within a few days of tapping
Q: How much pressure can this system handle?
A: the kegs would be best not exceed 3 volumes of coz for carbonation
Q: What is the net volume of the mini keg after allowing for the 1" of headspace?
A: the kegs are designed to hold 5 liters or 1 gallon
Q: Can this mini keg be used with krups mini kegerator? Thanks!
A: the Krups line of countertop dispensers appears to use a similar keg but unfortunately has a slightly different tap on the top so it may not work with all models they sell
Where are you located and ship from? If I ordered this keg today, could it arrive in chicago by Saturday? Thank you
A: we process and ship from South Eastern Michigan. Typical transit time via ground to Chicago is about 2-3 business days tops. We do offer expedited shipping services as a shipping option as well. An order placed before 3pm EST using any of thoseo ptions would ship the same day if ordered before 3. An order on Thursday would require it to be in the system by 3, using next day air for delivery by Friday. Otherwise 2nd day air or 3 day select would ship prior to the weekend but would be delivered Monday or Tuesday of the following week
Q: Can these kegs be stacked? If so how many would be recommended to stack at a time?
A: The Mini Kegs can be stacked however they are not made for stacking.
Q: How many times can these kegs be reused
A: The tap and sealing bung will need changed over time with regular wear and tear but so long as the kegs themselves don't become damaged they can be used indefinitely
Q: How much do they weigh empty?
A: Approximately four pounds.
Q: Can the 5l kegs be filled with carbonated beer from larger keg with beer gun?
A: This could be done at a low PSI to limit much of the co2 gas from escaping from the already carbonated beer
Q: Do you always have them in stock even if I wanted 100
Can you send me a picture of it showing the top. Does it have a whole on top
A: Our stock level at any given time is about 1 dozen we would have available to ship, an order that large would be special order from the vendor and require about 2-23 weeks lead time for ordering and shipping purposes. The Top does have the rounded opening with a plastic dust plug shipped in the keg where a rubberized vented plug can be applied by the end user if needed
Q: Can you store wine in these or will it react with the aluminum ?
A: The kegs do have an inner protective liner that would aid in keeping the wine safe, but if otherwise questioning the metal reaction, would seek out a stainless container
Q: Please verify your recent answer as to "5 l minikeg (with tap)" material being made of aluminum. Magnets attract to my recently received minikegs so they must be made of some type of iron or steel....magnets do not attract to aluminum such as beer or soda cans. Thanks.
A: with a call to the vendor they have verified the kegs currently being sourced are Aluminum-an MSDS of the product can be sent via a request to [email protected] if needed
Q: Is the 5 l minikeg (with tap) made of stainless steel? If not, will it rust or corrode with normal use? Thank you.
A: The kegs are made of aluminum(similar to a soda or beer can) that would not oxidize with continued use.
Q: What is the height and diameter of the mini-keg? (in inches)
A: the height is 10" and the diameter is 6.5"
Q: Can I force carbonate in these tanks
A: these kegs would only be recommended for conditioning with yeast and would not be recommended to force carb for safety reasons
Q: types of beer
A: these kegs are intended to be filled with home brewed beer by the end user and would not ship filled with beer as we are not licensed for, nor sell any alcohol on the site
Q: Can we open the red valve at the bottom to get the beer or beverage out of this mini keg? Is this how it works?
A: Correct, This can be used for gravity feed dispensing. Otherwise for draft serving, you would need to pruchase the Party Star Draft system as a seperate item, that dispenses from the top
Q: What kind of material is built?
A: these are aluminum kegs similar to beer can material makeup
