Great IPA
This was an easy all grain brew in my Mash and Boil. Also the best tasting IPA that I ever brewed. I will be brewing this one many times over.

Yummy beer
Great session. Hoppy but not crazy by any means. Very smooth drinker.

Nice and balanced
Very happy with this beer. I mostly brew IPA's and so I was looking forward to brewing one that relies on mosaic hops. When poured it gives a nice white head, smells great and has a great end. Fermented at 64° using Safeale us-04. Will brew this one again.

Q:
I note adding 1 oz of Mosaic hops at knock out. When is that and how long does it need to be there? I'm guessing add at end of boil and is present till cooled?
Asked by:
Charles Bash

A:
knock out or flame out hops are added at the end of the boil and left in until the beer is cooled

Q:
What would be the target water profile for the all-grain Mosaic Session IPA kit?
Asked by:
John Gibbons

A:
Low residual alkalinity and a sulfate to chloride ration balanced towards sulfate are the best choice for light colored and hop forward beers.

Q:
What is a proper starter?
Asked by:
Jason Allen
- 8/5/2019
A:
Propper Starter is a 16 oz. cans of condensed wort for making yeast starters. Yeast starters increase both the biomass and vitality of your yeast. Mix one 16 oz. can of condensed wort and 16 oz. of bottled, distilled or boiled & chilled water to create your starter solution, add to a sanitized 2 L flask, pitch your yeast and add to a stir plate for at least 24 hours. Each 16 oz. can of Propper Starter makes one 1 L starter.

Q:
What is the difference between all grain and extract brewing for the Mosaic Session IPA? So far, all I have used is the extract kits. Are the All Grain recipes harder to brew? Thanks.
Asked by:
Fred Schattauer
- 8/29/2018
A:
The main difference between an extract recipe and an all grain would be the grain bill and equipment required. For an all grain recipe you will need a mash tun to convert the starches in the gains to sugars. Where as with an extract you receive LME and this process is already done. Think making lemonade from lemons vs making it from a concentrate can. Feel free to give us a call or shoot us an email if you have any additional questions.
