Q: Are these food grade CO2 tanks, or industrial grade CO2 tanks?
A: These tanks are food grade
Q: Aloha - Ordered two kegs last week, arrived today. Mahalo for quick turn. Now in the process of getting rest of equipment needed to keg - regulator, connectors and tubing. For the kegs just purchased what fittings do I need if I purchase Taprite Dual Body Regulator and the 5# CO2 tank listed on your site. Also do you have a recommendation for counter pressure bottle filler. Plan to order next day or two since I have a brew ready for kegging week after next.
A: The dual body regulator paired with the co2 tank would get you the gas connection, and would just need 1 each of item #99-GLBase for each line, and at minimum a picnic tap like item ID#99-PicnicBase to didpensing. For Counter rpessure fillers the one we have found has the easiest use would be the Blichmann Beergun
Q: What is the total height of this tank with the gauges attached?
A: The tank itself stands 18" and the amount of height the regulator adds will vary basedo nt he manufacturer. I would allor for an addtional 6-7" about the height of the tank to allow for good clerance
Q: I have a brand new, never filled tank just like this but it is way out of date. Do I have any options? Does AIH take trade-ins? :)
A: We unfortunately do not do trade in options on out of date tanks. You can search for a company locally to you that will be able to hydro static test the cylinder and re-certify it for an additional 5 years.
Q: Do these tanks come with a warranty/guarantee?
A: We have a store 30 day return policy on any items with defects that are found after shipment but would not come with a warrenty
Q: Typically how long will a 5# CO2 tank last?
A: It should last at least a month, but keep in mind some people force carb and this uses up more co2 than if you did not force carb. Also, this is only if you have no leaks in your lines! The 5lb co2 tanks have the potential to last quite a while.
Q: Can you please tell me what the total cost of a filled 5# tank if I buy this at the store?
A: Co2 is $2.50 per pound at the store, your total cost would be $77.50 for a filled tank.
Q: Where are these made?
A: Depends, we carry 3 different brands and depending what is available at the time an order is placed depends on the brand you receive. We carry the following:
Luxfer - US
Worthington – Has plants all over the world (they recently sold off their aluminum cylinder plant and are now called Metal Impact)
AMCYL – China
Q: Do you know what the volume (Gallons?) capacity is this tank, and what is the port size, is it 1 inch NPT
A: These are not designed for liquid so we do not have a volume. the port size is a CGA 320 valve and should only be used with a co2 regulator. Thank you
Q: Do you fill these 5# tanks at AIH?
A: We fill CO2 at both our Ann Arbor and Taylor locations. We cannot ship filled CO2 tanks but if you are local and your CO2 tank is in date we can fill it.
Q: Do these tanks come with an current hydrostatic test sticker/certification?
A: They do, we purchase these CO2 tanks in new condition, with recent stamps and certification.
Q: which is the weight of the empty tank?
A: Typically these CO2 tanks are right around 7.5 pounds empty.
Q: What are the dimensions of this tank (including the valve)?
A: 5-1/4" diameter, 17-3/4 total height
Q: Do you send your tanks full or empty?
A: We will only ship empty tanks.
