Better than Newcastle!
I have made this beer a few times now, really is better than the Newcastle from the store. I use WLP013 London ale yeast.

Truly a clone. So good.
I didn't have very high expectations for my first brew, but this turned out great. When tasted after 2 weeks bottle conditioned in my basement cold room it was a little off, but one week later it was great. It kept getting better, until it was gone too soon. I'm ordering another now, trying a different yeast.

Newkie clone
Haven't tasted yet, just taken a few huffs off the secondary. Smells close, which is kind of surprising...I'm not expecting the real thing. If it turns out reasonably close tasting, I may keep this one in one of my keezer taps at all times.

I would give this a mediocre rating. Some resemblance to the real thing, but not quite there.

Newcastle Brown Ale Clone "right on"
Very nice brew. Very similar to the name brand and the satisfaction of making "my own beer".

Pleasantly Surprised
I'm a first time brewer, and I was expecting to go through some growing pains. However, this kit gave me everything I needed to brew a tasty beer on my first try. I HIGHLY recommend it to anyone starting out.

I'm a first time brewer, and this kit exceeded all my expectations. The instructions were easy to follow and the brew came out fantastic. In a blind side by side you would not be able to distinguish my brew from Newcastle. I used the Wyeast option and after 2 weeks racked into a corny keg. Placed it in my kegerator @ 45 degrees under 11 psi of CO2 for a week. Could not give a higher recommendation.
