Want to make a Yeast Starter? Home brewers are always led to believe making a yeast starter is for the advanced brewer. This could not be further from the truth. Very active yeast

I've made two excellent IPAs with this, and currently have a third dry-hopping. Good, fruity flavor, although I didn't find that the recommended mash hopping contributed anything extra.

Beware that this is a VERY active yeast! The foam on top is copious, sticky, and thick - it doesn't break down like most top-fermenting yeasts do. It will blow out of your airlock if you ferment it at 65F or higher - the corner of the room where I sit my fermenters now has yeast splattered all over the walls and floor. On the other hand, this characteristic makes it really easy to harvest and reuse trub-free yeast - just scrape it off the inside of the top of the fermenter when you bottle or keg.

Showed up inflated

Got several yeasts sent, and this one showed up blown up tight. I haven't used yet, but will build a starter and see if still viable. All other yeasts shipped fine.
