Perlick 650SS Flow Control Faucet

Perlick's NEW 304 stainless steel, forward sealing beer and wine faucets are unique in both appearance and function. A revolutionary ball and floating front seal design prevents beer from being exposed to air. As a result, the handle lever doesn't stick, and there is no build up of mold and bacteria in the faucet body. Fewer internal parts means better reliability and fewer service calls.

In addition to the Perlick exclusive forward sealing design features, the 650SS Forward Sealing Flow Control Faucet features a flow compensator. The flow compensator provides more control because by adjusting the flow control handle, you can adjust the restriction for hard to pour brands. You can also adjust the flow control handle to slow the flow for pouring sampler glasses, flights or growlers as well as to reduce the amount of foam when pouring into a frosted glass.

Working well, 1 small issue
Purchased these after doing a bunch of research on taps. The flow control feature does seem to work well, but I suspect it won't fix all line balancing issues. One minor issue I read about before hand is the sulfur smell and taste some people get with these due to the use of different types of s.s. in the flow control valve parts. I ran line cleaner for an extended amount of time and a double strength Star San solution for an extended amount of time through these before their first use to hopefully negate this. It seems that I still have the slightest 'sulfury-ness' sometimes for the first 1oz or 2, but maybe that's just paranoia. There is a way to treat the stainless at home if you have this issue, google it.

Great faucets
I have 4 of these on my keg fridge. Since I always screw up the carb pressure, the flow control is a great feature, it lets me adjust the back pressure so the beer doesn't come out all foam.

Great faucets
These were a major upgrade over my rear seating faucets which were prone to sticking. These perlick faucets don't stick after sitting for a week. I would highly recommend these and I definitely think the flow control is worth it.

It Works but flush
I've installed three of these faucets on my system. The pressure adjust function works well for various styles/CO2 levels. I'm currently pouring a Belgian Triple, a Belgian Blonde, and a Kolsch. I would give it five stars except that beer seems to foul in the faucet, even after just one day. The first quarter cup out of the faucet smells terrible. I discard that, then the beer is fresh and the faucet works well.

Genuine upgrade to kegerator
New kegerator on line with the SS tower and two 650SS mounted. Just pulled the first draw from a violently shaken keg of Founders Dirty Bastard. Choked flow control off and fully opened faucet. Eased flow open, and perfect pour. No wasted beer! An outstanding design that I can't wait to try on homebrew.

Nicer than nice
Replaced my leaking POC picnic taps with two of these....oh my I am in pourvana these are perfect. They look nice , feel nice, pour wonderfully and the flow control tops it off. Pouring stouts and iPa with the same pressures with no issues. Love them. Getting the other four in the next months. Well worth the cost.

Great taps and service!
Great taps and even better service. Received in two weeks to Australia, although one tap had minor damage it was replaced no questions asked. Would recommend and buy from these guys again.

Works great!
There's no perfect tap but this one, for me, is the best one to date. Adding line, etc is a tricky venture to get right, and the Perlick Flow Control reduces much of the problem with foamless pours. One, this faucet is sealed so dried beer (like in other plunger types) is a non-issue. If your tap is warm, then flow control will help by slowly letting beer flow and chill the tap. What works for me is to use the flow control to stop the beer flow, then gradually open it, letting more beer flow as the internal parts are chilled. Once the first cup is poured, I have a great pour. I've used these on both of my 8 tap and 3 tap Jockey boxes, and my neighbor loves this upgrade on his Kegerator. I wouldn't change or trade these for any other taps....they work excellent for me and my neighbor.

I would recommend the 650ss to anyone.
My experience with the 650ss taps over the last 4 months has been great. The flow control is working as advertised. I have 2 taps installed in my kegerator. Both have 18" of 3/16" beer line and a rise of only 12". Currently I have a highly carbed wheat beer at 16 psi and more moderately carbed beer at 7psi. Both flow perfectly. The restrictor is set at a little under half on the 16 psi beer. I would recommend the 650ss to anyone.
