Q: Can you get this fitting in 3/4" mpt?
A: At this time we only source this part in the 1/2" NPT sizing
Q: Can I use this bulkhead to intall a valve in my brew pot?
A: Yes, This is the most common use for the product
Q: What is an FMPT (Fem/Male Pipe Thread?) coupler and do you sell one?
A: This is typically a Female to Male Reducer or coupling. Depending on the size your looking for, we may have one nuder the brewing hardware section of the site to take a look.
Q: What is the inner diameter of this bulkhead?
Q: I want to use this fitting for boiling maple syrup. will the gaskets withstand up to 220 degrees f ??
A: Yes the gasket and other materials would be just fine in the 220 degree range
Q: how do I hook up the Hop Rocket Strainer Small Holes,or the 12" Stainless Steel Bazooka Screen with 1/2" NPT fitting? I have the 12" bazooka screen now and was also wondering if this was enough or do I need to ad the rocket strainer too?
A: The hop rocket small hole strainer is part of the Blichmann HopRocket and does not go inside a kettle. To connect a Bazooka Screen you'll need a 1/2" FMPT coupler. Possibly you could jerryrig the bazooka screen by remove the bazooka coupler and clamping it directly to the bulkhead fitting.
Q: Please correct me if wrong but the proper way to install this fitting, going from inside to outside of the kettle, is:
1. containment nut
2. red silicone O ring (mounted in the recess of the containment nut)
3. kettle wall
4. white silicone washer (against the outside of the kettle)
5. flat steel washer
A: You are correct, that is the proper way to install this bulkhead.
Q: Are there female threads on the interior? If not, are there typically enough threads protruding internally to allow a SS elbow to be threaded on?
A: There are not female threads on the interior of the weld, the outer threads are 1/2" pipe thread. This would give you male threads on the outside of the pot, but the inner portion of the threaded nipple wouldn't have room to add an elbow.
