Set of Four - 5 Gallon Ball Lock Kegs

Used & Pressure Tested - Ball Lock - Includes Pressure Relief Valve Lid

Pressure tested 5 gallon, stainless steel, cornelius style tank. These tanks are guaranteed to hold pressure. 25" tall and 8.5" diameter. Tanks will show normal wear and tear. May have stickers on kegs. May also have syrup residue in tanks as we only dump them.

Kegs include the o-rings and poppits that were installed when we received the tanks. We will often change an o-ring or poppit to get the tank to hold pressure. If you would like to have new o-rings or poppits, the options below allow you to add these. We do not change them but simply add them to the order.

If you are just getting into kegging you will need a kegging setup to go with these kegs. We sell picnic tap systems, tower systems, and kegerator systems.

We know some homebrewers are more picky than others, so please keep in mind that these are USED kegs. Some of these kegs are probably 30 years old. Do not expect new kegs. If you are looking for new kegs, please check out our new kegs. We try and have quality kegs available at all times. With this said, they are going to show normal wear and tear. We are not implying that our kegs are not quality...we just want to avoid any misunderstandings. Most of the kegs have black protective tops and bottoms, some are blue. We may have a few green, red or yellow tops. If you want a particular color, please indicate that at checkout time and we will try to accommodate you. Keg manufacturers vary- The kegs we have will not all be one brand of used keg. Firestone, AEB, Cornelius, KegKing are a few brand name examples that might be included.

If you are unhappy with your used 5 Gallon Kegs for any reason, we will gladly take them back. The purchaser will be responsible for return shipping charges.

Better than new
While they have a few small scratches, dings and labels on them, once you clean them up they look pretty good. These kegs were made when they made them to last. I don't have a way to know to measure the thickness of the walls, but I would put money on it that they are thicker than the ones being manufactured today. I haven't even needed to replace any of the seals yet. These kegs will probably outlast me.

Used 5 Gallon Ball Lock Kegs (4)
Based on what I read, I expected tanks that were a lot more dinged, or dirty. Extremely happy with what arrived. I cleaned them up a little and since they're going to be sitting in a keezer anyway, they're perfect. Very functional. Will definitely be back for more.

Great used kegs
First off, these are USED kegs, not new...for any of you who are confused. As such they had a few dings and scratches, old bits of labels and some leftover soda syrup in them. With a bit of elbow grease, some good cleaner, and a green scotchbrite pad I managed to shine the first one up very nicely. Once the outside was clean I released the pressure and commenced to clean the inside. Some hot water followed by a nice soak in some Oxyclean and now we have a nice clean, shiny almost new keg. Replace all the seals with the included ones and good to go. Basically, for a bit of hard work you save buttloads over new and get a perfectly good keg that will last you for a good long while. And really, if you are against hard work, what are you doing homebrewing....

Not bad, but not great
Received all kegs in reasonable shape and all held pressure fine. However, each one was still filled with who-knows-what. Plan on a full disassembly and spending time cleaning the bejesus out of these.

Great kegs
The 4 corney kegs were delivered quick and in great shape. They were under pressure and clean. I have beer in three of them, and I'm extremely pleased with them.

I know I'm buying used kegs, but I believe the inlet post was damaged on two of the four. After installing new o-rings these kegs blew through 5# of CO2 in a night. I assume it was the inlet b/c the bottom of my keezer wasn't full of beer. The price is good for what you get if you don't have to replace all the parts (which is what I think I have to do). (AIH Note: please feel free to call, email or live chat with our customer service team regarding any issues you may be experiencing with your kegs or any other products.)

Mixed keg types (thumbs down)
I received 3 Cornelius ball lock kegs and 1 Firestone/Spartenberg ball lock keg. My entire collection of kegs are Cornelius and now I have this 1 "red headed stepchild" of a Firestone/Spartenberg keg to deal with. I haven't had time to review the other 3 kegs condition yet, but the Firestone/Spartenberg's liquid tube is either gummed up with old soda syrup or rusted. I'm very unhappy with the fact AiH mixed the two types to fulfill this order. I would exchange this Firestone/Spartenberg keg for a used Cornelius keg, but I don't want to eat the box/shipping/insurance costs and possible restocking fee for this nonsense. For those unaware of the differences: * Cornelius keg posts use a 7/8" socket to detach ( * Firestone/Spartenberg keg posts use a 11/16" socket to detach; and they have a much smaller surface area to work with ( * Firestone/Spartenberg gas dip tube is generally plastic and tapered; this means the gas tube insert (inside the keg) prevents a Cornelius sized gas tube ( * Firestone/Spartenberg liquid dip tube also a different size when compared to a Cornelius liquid dip tube (

Great value on well loved kegs
I received my order of kegs in one box that had the kegs lying on their sides, under pressure and well packed. They were all still holding pressure. While they each showed signs of being well loved, none of the dents or marks indicated compromise of integrity or significant reduction of volume capacity. The extra set of o-rings allowed me to address any issues that way. All the poppets seemed fine. I had one pressure relief valve that would not hold, and after a brief e-mail AIH had a replacement on its way.
