Q: Is this to catch the hops after brewing to keep from just plugging the bottom of the conical? I end up having to empty the catch ball at least once.
A: Correct, This fits through the top opening to hold the dry hops that can either be left in during conditioning or removed from the top.
Q: I have recently purchased this filter to use with the fast ferment. The hop filter falls inside the fermenter and I am fearful of it continuously scratching the inside of my fermenter. The top side of the hop filter does have a rolled lip which appears should rest on top of the fermenter to prevent the filter from falling, but the outside diameter of the filter is a bit smaller than the inside diameter of the fermenter allowing this to occur. Per the instructions, the filter lip should rest on the top of the fermenter....am I missing something? I would appreciate any feedback on this matter as I am excited to use the hop filter, but want to keep it unused in case it must be returned.
Thank you in advance.
A: When checked on the fermenters we had on hand, the lip did catch the edge of the fermente opening, but it is a very close margin. the edge of the filter can be bent out slightly to help provide more of a "grip" if needed
