Frequently Asked Questions
What is CO2?
Carbon Dioxide (CO2) is a pure and natural gas that is a component of the Earthâ€â„¢s atmosphere. Humans and animals exhale CO2 and then plants absorb it to help them grow. Plants, in turn, release oxygen, which humans and animals depend on for survival.
Are CO2 Cartridges Safe for the Environment?
They are as safe as opening a soda bottle. A 12 gram CO2 cylinder has about the same amount of CO2 found in a one liter bottle of soda. Plus, our CO2 is captured directly from a manufacturing plant- cleaned, filtered, purified and bottled. It does NOT come from the burning of fossil fuels. We are recycling CO2 that normally would have been exhausted into the atmosphere.
Is CO2 Safe to Use?
Consumer products such as beverage carbonation, fire extinguishers, life jackets, soda siphons, and tire inflators have used CO2 safely for many years. Also, EACH Genuine Innovationsâ€â„¢ CO2 inflator is tested to ensure quality, safety and purity.
Can I recycle CO2 Cylinders?
Genuine Innovationsâ€â„¢ CO2 cylinders are made of steel and are 100% recyclable. Empty CO2 cylinders can be placed in any recycling bin that accepts steel. If your community does not recycle steel curb side, we encourage users to take used cylinders to a recycling facility.
Why use CO2 instead of just air?
Genuine Innovationsâ€â„¢ CO2 inflators are quick, safe, easy to use, and provide years of dependable service.
What is the size of the threading on threaded Genuine Innovations CO2 cartridges?

Are the CO2 cartridges food grade?
Though food compliant, our CO2 cartridges are not food grade. Food grade cylinders are manufactured using a process that cleans the cylinders inside and out before filling, and has all of the appropriate government paperwork to accompany it.Food compliant means basically that the cylinders are produced in the same manner as a food grade cylinder, without the government certification. Our cylinders are produced in that manner, but our factory isnâ€â„¢t certified to label their product â€Å“Food gradeâ€Â.
How much do the 16g and 20g cartridges weigh?
A full 16g cartridge weights 56.8g, a full 20g cylinder weighs 69.7 g
How long can I keep store of a cartridge of CO2 once I have breached the seal?
The 2nd wind roads, nano, and mountain pipe all have a silicone seal which has a higher rate of bleed â€â€œ will lose the balance of CO2 within a month. The Ultraflate, Proflate, and Air Chuck all have a nitrile seal which bleeds less â€â€œ loss will be about .5 gram/month.
