Used Homebrew Kettle With One 1/2" Coupling - 15.5 Gallon
These are used half barrels that we've had the top removed (12" diameter) and a full 1/2" female coupling welded in each. Acid dipped to clean after top cut out. Lids are NOT included, but are optional.
Also choose from optional stainless steel and brass ball valve and pickup tube accessories.
Happy Brewing!!
Awesome deal
Keg is in near perfect condition. The lid from my 10 gallon kettle fits on this perfectly too. Super happy with this purchase, couldn’t think of a better way to do a 10 gallon batch!

Great product!
Just received my “used” kettle and I’m really impressed with the quality. It has minor scratches, but overall it is virtually new. The inside is very clean with no dents. The hole in the top was precisely cut with safely smooth edges. The welding of the coupling is as well done as any keggle that I’ve seen. I am handy with tools with access to everything but welding materials and I don’t think there is anyway you can come up with as nice of a product if you did it yourself for a comparable price. Really impressed and it supports a quality business...I can’t imagine that you’ll be disappointed with the purchase.

Great Product
Wow! I just had my keg delivered and it is WAY better than the photo, the keg barely looks used! The keg is clean inside and out and the cut on top is smooth and clean can't say enough good things about Adventures in Homebrewing I have bought corny kegs, recipe kits and numerous other supplies everything has been 1st class.

Great Upgrade To My Brewing!
After doing some research and reading the reviews on is item I decided to buy two of them. They are a great way two step up to ten gallon batches. I'm thinking of trying some all grain batches as well. But for now I can make two ten gallon batches at the same time.

WAY better than pictured
OK. First things first. The keg I received was WAY better than the one pictured. Sure, I could tell it was used, albeit apparently rather gently. Weld looks great. VERY minor ding in one spot. NO stickers or residue. VERY clean all around. Lip around the opening could use some smoothing--no big deal. 5/5 stars on these used kegs, at least in my experience. Looking for an excuse to order another one now...

Great product
Don't base your decision to buy one of these on the product picture. These things are awesome. Mine hardly looked like it had been used. The lid (optional) was a perfect fit and the unit functions perfectly for my use as an HLT. Temp dropped only 10 degrees in 3 hrs when I function tested it. Held 170 for 1-1/2 hours.

Very nice
I just received my keggle today, very nice, beyond expectation. Well worth the cost and shipping was very reasonable. I have not brewed in almost 20 years and now have some extra dough to equip a home brewery well. So I am taking my time and putting together a nice setup. I may pick up a second one.

Great Keggle
I can't believe it's made from a retired keg. Looks almost new. Beautifully polished. The weld on it is very well done. If you are looking at buying a keggle, you will be just as happy with one of these as you would be with a new one. Thanks AIH!

Awesome, and inexpensive
This used keggle was the least expensive one I could find, and is 100% fantastic. It is a used Labatt's keg, with a great finish. Totally satisfied with this purchase.

Awesome
I needed a stainless pot for bochet, and this came up on sale before I found anything else - best money I've spent on brewing equipment. This pot has doubled my volume, allowing me to brew 10 gallon batches, with faster boil times, as the ring of the base traps heat underneath. Here is the caution - that ring retains heat for some time after the flames are out (steam burns from damp gloves are not pleasant!). I'd buy another, if I could justify it!

15.5 Keggle for brewing
Wow welds are perfect and the hole looks like it was meant to be there. Get the stainless ball valve and silicone 3/8 tubing. I was using an aluminum 8 gal kettle before to brew 5 gal batches now I can brew 10 gal batches if I want or still 5 gal. When I fire this up on my patio everyone in the area comes over because they know its brew day added more professionalism to the hobby. If you’re on the edge of buying this pull the trigger you will be glad you did. It took me over 1 year to get it but really glad I did.

Great price
(For context I have a Edelmetall Brü™ Burner), I filled this all the way to the top (15 gallons) and it got to the ball park of 205- 208 degrees in about an hour, but that's not boiling. I had a lid on hand and as soon as I placed that on top it came right up to a boil. (So In my experience you need a lid) That being said this thing is solid, I do recommend to go all Stainless for the ball valve, I mean yeah it's twice the price of the brass but the aesthetics I believe are worth the extra 14 bucks. Make sure you get a dip tube as well, this thing has a concave bottom and is on the hefty side, don't be a knuckle head and think you can lift this thing when it's hot (mine was still vaporizing hose water on the bottom, even after the chiller had cooled off the beer. The dip tube leaves very little behind and most is just unwanted protein and hop remains so it's a good thing. Also I had a homemade 3/8 copper wort chiller that I used a Corny keg to form it, it went in easy enough but getting it out was another story I mangled it to the point where I just purchased a counter flow wort chiller to replace it, (point of that is to test to see if you wort chiller can make it in and out before you are boiling anything) other than that I am really happy with it. 5 stars.

Awesome
I had a few kegs but was finding it hard to find someone who could cheaply weld stainless steel to turn them into Keggles. You can't beat the price for what you get with this product. I also had a friend who found out what I was doing and did the same thing to help set up his system. With the price of brew pots and the aggravation of welding in setting up stainless steel kegs on your own, you can't beat these keggles! Had my first brew day on my new system and the Keggles worked great.

Q:
Do ya'll do custom configs of the keggles? Ideally would like 1 - 1.5" tri-clamp fitting at the bottom (for heating element, 1 - 1/2" coupling for drain then a little higher 1 - 1/2" coupling for temp/thermometer, and another 1.5" tri-clamp for a secondary heating element.
Asked by:
jake carroll
- 1/9/2019
A:
requests for custom work can be submitted via E-mail to
[email protected]
for a quote. Added tri clamp dump valves would be $60 per weld and the fitting would need to be supplied. Standard 1/2" couplings can be welded(fitting included) for $40 per weld to the sidewall of the keg. Lead time for finished work to ship is 4-6 weeks

Q:
Can this be used as a mash tin? I.e. will it keep heat? I'd prefer not to use the converted *plastic* igloo coolers and am seeking an alternative to keep the heat.
Asked by:
Alex
- 12/15/2017
A:
KEg kettles can be used as a mash tun in place of a cooler. The coolers are much more insulated in terms of holding heat, but thek ettles do have the benfit of beaing able to have heat applied to them to allow the temps to be maintained, but on their own do loose heat a bit faster than a cooler

While the height of the coupling will have very small variances underpinning on the curve of the bottom on each keg, if you include in the notes on the order that you will be using the kettle with or purchasing a pico false bottom on the order, we can make sure to check the kettle prior to shipping to ensure it will fit

at this time we currently do not have the option to get the keggles without at least the single port on the bottom, as they are sent to us this way by the manufacturer. A kettle plug like item#73-3509 can be used to seal off this coupling on the bottom is no valve is needed.

Q:
I'm looking to up my game to 10 gal batches and I'm interested in these use keggles. I see some one asked about additional couplings and that would be custom. How much for additional coupling? Lead time? Would weld-less couplings be a worthy option? I'm thinking of getting 3 keggles as per your complete AG keggle system which doesn't mention if the kegs are new or used. I have 2 burners. Please advise?
Asked by:
John Sutton
- 4/27/2016
A:
Additional sanitary weld can be applied to these kegs at an additional cost of $40 per weld. The lead time on these welds is approximately 2 weeks but may vary. Weld less fittings can be added to these kettles and used as a Viable option. If you contact us by phone, we can chat more on options to suit your particular set up.
