Q: Do ya'll do custom configs of the keggles?
Ideally would like 1 - 1.5" tri-clamp fitting at the bottom (for heating element, 1 - 1/2" coupling for drain then a little higher 1 - 1/2" coupling for temp/thermometer, and another 1.5" tri-clamp for a secondary heating element.
A: requests for custom work can be submitted via E-mail to [email protected] for a quote. Added tri clamp dump valves would be $60 per weld and the fitting would need to be supplied. Standard 1/2" couplings can be welded(fitting included) for $40 per weld to the sidewall of the keg. Lead time for finished work to ship is 4-6 weeks
Q: Just wanted to see how long the wait list was for this keg/mash tun. Thank you!
A: at this time (Sept 2018) we do not have a current return ETA to advise of
Q: Can this be used as a mash tin? I.e. will it keep heat? I'd prefer not to use the converted *plastic* igloo coolers and am seeking an alternative to keep the heat.
A: KEg kettles can be used as a mash tun in place of a cooler. The coolers are much more insulated in terms of holding heat, but thek ettles do have the benfit of beaing able to have heat applied to them to allow the temps to be maintained, but on their own do loose heat a bit faster than a cooler
Q: Is there holes drilled in the bottom rim so pressure does not build up during a boil?
A: If referring to the drainage holes on the underside base of the keg, this is typically but will vary from keg to keg
Q: Will the welded outlet location work with the PICO Keg/Keggle False Bottom Assembly (Item Number 99-2653)?
A: While the height of the coupling will have very small variances underpinning on the curve of the bottom on each keg, if you include in the notes on the order that you will be using the kettle with or purchasing a pico false bottom on the order, we can make sure to check the kettle prior to shipping to ensure it will fit
Q: Do you sell any 15.5 gal. kegs that have not been converted into a keggle?
Q: Is the $27.99 stainless ball valve option for the keggle which is on sale a three piece ball valve?
A: The ball valve add on with the 27.99 cost for the stainless version would be a 2 piece valve
Q: Does this coupling extend inside the pot or is the entire length of the coupling welded to the outside of the pot?
A: The coupling will extend slightly into the kettle allowing for a connection with a 1/2" NPT male to be threaded into it
Q: Will this keggle accept a kettle screen?
A: Yes, the coupling welded into the front is a 1/2" NPt full coupling so as long as the fitting on the screen is 1/2" Male NPT thread it will work fine
Q: Are these kegs completely stainless steele? If so, what gRade is te stainless steele?
A: The kegs re completely stainless and are a 304 stainless material
Q: Can I get The cut out top to use as a lid?
A: the tops of these have already been discarded and scrapped by the time re receive them. Lids can be purchased for these new using item#107-9223
Q: Is it possible to get one of these with no couplers just the hole in the top if yes what would be the price?
A: at this time we currently do not have the option to get the keggles without at least the single port on the bottom, as they are sent to us this way by the manufacturer. A kettle plug like item#73-3509 can be used to seal off this coupling on the bottom is no valve is needed.
Q: Can this be ordered with 2 additional welded-in couplings installed at 45 degrees (same height from bottom) and a false bottom?
A: We can add other welds to these kettles as a custom set up at a cost of $40 per addtional weld. Our fabricator used for these will not be available to make these additions until Feb/mar 2017.
Q: Is it possible to drill a hole and install a thermometer in this?
A: it is possible, although you would need either a hole saw designed for working with stainless material, or a metal punch that can be used to give you a cleaner opening on the kettle wall.
Q: can i please get the hight of these keggles? making a brew stand.
A: These are standard half-barrel kegs. The height is typically 24" but can vary by 1/2"-1" depending on the manufacturer.
Q: Can I get this used keggle on sale price with a recirculating port and a thermometer port added to it?
A: The Kettle can be purchased with the single coupling at the current sale price, but unfortunately any modifications made would be an extra charge.
Q: Can you add a thermometer and sight glass to these?
A: Yes, we do have a few weldless options to add a thermometer and sight gauge to these kettles. Additional welds can be made to the kettle, but would be a separate custom charge. Yon can call us at the number listed on the contact us section of the website for options and an idea of pricing.
Q: What is the diameter of the hose barb on the SS ball valve?
A: Thanks for the question, JW. IF you purchase the ball valve with the keggle it will come with a 3/8" barb. Cheers!
Q: I want to convert this into a mash tun. Do you sell the proper false bottom and dip tube combo for this kettle?
A: Yes we sell the Pico False Bottom and there is a pick up tube option with the false bottom
Q: I'm looking to up my game to 10 gal batches and I'm interested in these use keggles. I see some one asked about additional couplings and that would be custom. How much for additional coupling? Lead time? Would weld-less couplings be a worthy option? I'm thinking of getting 3 keggles as per your complete AG keggle system which doesn't mention if the kegs are new or used. I have 2 burners. Please advise?
A: Additional sanitary weld can be applied to these kegs at an additional cost of $40 per weld. The lead time on these welds is approximately 2 weeks but may vary. Weld less fittings can be added to these kettles and used as a Viable option. If you contact us by phone, we can chat more on options to suit your particular set up.
