Q: I purchased Vintner's Best® Blueberry Fruit Wine Base. It came today. I'm confused because I thought it was a drinkable blueberry wine. Instead it's a thick syrupy wine. Am I suppose to add something to it to make it drinkable?
A: This is a wine syrup base that is used to make wine but would not be fermented already and contain no alcohol as we are not licensed to sell alcohol or wine at this time, just the ingredients and equipment to make it at home
Q: I started a batch of blueberry 2 weeks ago. I never seen the expected amount of bubbles out of the air lock. I racked after 15 days and spot checked the S.G. at 1.06, the start was 1.076. I used EC-1118 yeast. Do I have a problem?
A: To answer your questions completely, please contact us, We would be happy to speak with you, but would need more information from you to determine the issue. You can reach us 313-277-2739.
Q: I see these new Vinter's Best fruit wine base are made with corn syrup. Everything I have read in the past does not recommend corn based sugars for wine. How are these kits coming out in comparison to the Vinter's Harvest?
A: They come out quite similar. Fermentable corn syrup is listed within the ingredients and is okay to use for the making of wine.
