Q: Can extra sugar be added to increase ABV ?
A: more sugars can be added to the fermentation to increase the ABV to the amount desired by the end user
Q: Would this work with mead and how would it be used?
A: This can be used in mead making and if producing a drier mead, would be best added with the honey in Primary, and for sweeter meads, added post fermentation to provide more sugars to the batch
Q: What's the difference between a fruit base and a fruit puree? I've been making wines from the fruit, etc., but think I would like to try some of these products.
A: Puree will contain more of the 'lees' or fruit particulate in the canister where the wine base has been filter of heavy sediment before packaging
Q: Would this also work to use as an additive in secondary for a fruit beer?
A: Yes. this product does have quite a bit of sugar content to it so fermentation will be kick started again. the 96oz can is quite a bit for a 5 gallon batch. I would recommend checking out the 48oz cans for use with 5 gall no beer recipes for adding into secondary fermentation
Q: What else do I need to add to this to make wine? New at this. I just use the kits ,but want to try this.
A: We actually have a recipe kit to make blackberry wine using this fruit base! http://www.homebrewing.org/AIH-Blackberry-Wine-_p_939.html
Instructions and recipe are available in the description
Q: What are the ingredients in the can?
A: According to the label..... Blackberries.
Seriously, that's it! No extra anything.
Q: How much of this blackberry fruit base would I need to set off 50 gallons ?
A: One can typically makes 5 to 6 gallons so you would need about 10 cans.
